Strengths: Color, contrast, finish, SD/SDHC photo feature, easy-to-use
Weaknesses: no front input/output, sound setting is very limited, no pc/vga/dvi input
Summary: In general, happy with the purchase. Used it a lot in sharing photos with friends coming to my house this holiday season, we are very satisfied with the color and crystal clean details of the pictures. We use it to watch HD dvd movies, though the sound setting is too naive, we use our discrete home theater audio system, so it is not a big deal for us. With the price, we are happy with this HDTV set.

Strengths: Picture quality, Price
Weaknesses: No PIP, hissing noise on volume
Summary: Got this at an unbelieveable price because Sears sold out to the Sharp 46" that I was in line for. This is by far an awesome deal and a much better TV then the LCD I would have gotten...although it is not 1080p I can live with the exceptional picture quality in HD and SD. About the sound, it hissed when the volume was turned up...but, I use a home theatre system, so sound is not an issure for me. I am please to say I would have bought this even at regular price of 1499.
But I got it for 899!!!! Thanks Sears for changing my mind. ...

Strengths: - picture quality is amazing
- black bezel looks better than silver
- price/benefit is great
Weaknesses: - burn in image still exists, but has vastly improved.
Summary: This model offers the best benefit for its cost. Panasonic is well known for its high contrast (this model offers 10,000:1). If you're looking for something in the $2000 range, this tv is great. If your budget is higher, the Pioneer brand is the better way to go. The picture quality is very clear, sharp and even better with the HD box. The resolution is excellent. I also compared this model to an LCD and you can see quality differences between them (the picture quality is clearer and the color is fantastic). I just watched a movie on this tv the other day and the picture and color looked amazing. I've yet to watch football on the tv, but I've been told by other owners that the color is pops more so than an LCD. I aslo love the black shell vs the silver shell. It makes the picture quality stand out even more (think about it...the color black makes all colors brighter and stand out more) and it looks sleeker. The warranty claims that you'd have 60,000 hours of usage before the tv's color reaches its mid life. That's approx 20 years at and average of 8 hours/day. For the money and overall satisfaction, go with this tv. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality
Weaknesses: Speakers are a disapoinment with not enough power
Summary: This TH-42PX75U 42" was bought to replace my 10-year old tube in the family room. The picture quality is excellent, the hook-up options are enough except the speakers are not powerful enough for a 42" tv. In my opinion, a tv of this size would be good for general viewing, and not too many people are willing to spend serious money for a full-featured home theater system for it. Therefore, the two speakers with maximum 10W output each at 10% THD is really a turn-off. Other than that, I have no complain for this tv, and would have rated this tv five star.

Strengths: Beautiful picture, HD Tuner, 2HDMI, Stand included.
Weaknesses: none so far.
Summary: My first HD TV and my first plasma. I upgraded from a 10 yr old 19 inch TV. I was a little worried when i first got it because I did not have the correct cables and the picture was not very good when viewing an HD channel( i have no experience with hooking up an HD TV). After purchasing the correct cables I was shocked at how clear and beautiful the picture was. Standard Def channels are not that great but High Def channels will bring a tear to your eye. I have an Up-converted DVD player and even the movies looked great. So far i could not be happier with my choice.

Strengths: - Excellent Picture
- Panasonic Brand Name
- Price
Weaknesses: - No VGA port (Avaiable in the next model up)
- No S-Video in the front.
Summary: Alright, I already have a 42PX60U and 42PX600U model. I needed another one, so as you know the PX75U is the new line for 2007. What are the differences, well from what are obvious, a slick black color all over, looks great, and a better stand, weight is lighter too.
Honestly, at this point I think very few retailers are carrying the 60U series anymore, most of them cleared. If they even are, well no use buying them unless you get them at $1000 or less. Better to go with the newer line. There are other features too which I haven't used yet.
Note there is no VGA port in the 75X model, but is available in the next model up, the 75X model is like the 60U model. I considered the Pioneer and Samsung model, which compare to the Panny, so I narrowed it down to the Panasonic and Pioneer. There was a $300 difference between the Panny and Pioneer, so I went with the Panasonic. Note, I already have two other Panasonic plasmas, and all my friends go with the Panasonic.
Overall, I got this at a great price ($1250 Shipped, no tax) from a online retailer through pricegrabber. I love the TV, and everyone who visits highly compliments the slick black look. The only thing that I dont like is there is no S-Video port on the front of the TV, the 60 and 600U models, had front ports, which included S-Video. It's just easier to connect a laptop directly. Also, as I mentioned earlier since there is no VGA port, you can use a DVI to HDMI cable to connect a computer, they are pretty cheap to buy.

Strengths: Sharp picture clarity, brilliant true color, attractive appearance
Weaknesses: none, so far
Summary: 2007-06-27 12:36:19 I decided to purchase this Panasonic product based upon a review by a consumer magazine and research I did that indicated that Panasonic was one of the few companies to manufacture both the screen and the components of the TV.
I took it out of the box, connected the cables and was immediately satisfied by the performance of the set.

Strengths: Screen size, Number of connections
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: The TV was extremely easy to connect to my DVD and cable (Comcast) inputs. I was initially trying to decide between the 37" Sharp Aquos 1080p TV and this one. I eventually decided that the additional screen size was a suitable trade off for not having native 1080p resolution. This TV will take a 1080 signal, but it then downgrades it to 720p.

Strengths: Plenty of inputs - 2 component, 2 HDMI, reg video, S-video, amzing HD picture quality
Weaknesses: 720p and mediocre standard def TV output
Summary: Well I have to admit that on display this TV was one of the most impressive in its group. The colors are vibrant the picture is sharp on HDTV signals. The same held true when I hooked it up at home. Plenty of inputs and decent style frame. I have used both the compnent inputs and HDMI inputs with excellent results.
Also Panasonic is running a $200 rebate on installation right now so between the base price, rebate and quality of the TV this TV stood out on many levels of the 720P TV's that I was looking at.
The only disappointment is that standard definitionTV just isn't the same as that on my standard def 32" SOny and 36" JVC. I understand why this is but still a disappointment of sorts.
Overall I would recommend this as a 5 star on the deal I picked it up on but am holding back a star for the standard def picture quality.

Weaknesses: remote design is just ok
Summary: We have been very pleased with this purchase. It was reasonably priced and makes a big difference when watching both television and dvd movies. The picture is so much clearer and more defined that other tv's.
The picture is able to be viewed clearly from any angle just as clearly as sitting straight on.
We would highly recommend this purchase.

Strengths: Nice HD image quality
Reliable product (at least since I have owned this!!)
Weaknesses: Remote could be better
Haven't found a way to switch INPUT from my DISH remote. I can control vol and power etc just not input yet
Summary: This is my second HDTV Plasma and I love this. If you haven't taken plunge in to HDTV, this is the time. 720P is good enough quality so don't wait for good deal on reputed brand TV with 1080P. We watch TV from almost 8-10 ft and you do not see pixelization while viewing HD source through HDMI. I would recommend tuning setting s after 7-10 days of use using something like AVIA or other similar products. When I say reliable in title because my Samsung blew it's power supply after 20 days of use. Build of Panasonic sturdy compared to other.. I know you are not going to start fighting with it my little kids do try to reach out to base and try to shake it up.. this one doesn't move, shake ...
