Strengths: Easy to install and loaded without error
Weaknesses: None currently (first day of use)
Summary: I received my shipment from Frys and just finished installing the two chips into my Lenovo Z60t laptop. The entire process took 15 minutes because I had issues with removing the plastic palm rest on my laptop. However, once I was able to get to the RAM, it took less than 2 minutes to take out my old chip and put in the new chips. I booted up the system and everything looked fine. I double checked and my laptop recognized the upgrade to 2GB (1.99GB to be exact) without any issues.

Strengths: Solid performance and stability, Patriot memory is always about quality, backward compatible with PC2-4200, life-time warranty.
Weaknesses: Each module only 1GB, average timings.
Summary: This is a SoDIMM memory kit good for upgrade, great performance at a low cost. Have installed a few on different laptop brands and never had a problem. Highly recommended for those who want to upgrade to 2GB of memory on their laptops.

Strengths: Solved instability problems caused by another vendor's memory
Weaknesses: None I've found
Summary: Notebook memory is pretty simple stuff. You plug it in, and it works or it doesn't. Or at least that's the way it should be. After all, you can't fool around with timings or anything like that.
I've installed a pair of these my ThinkPad, and they proved something of which I had been suspicious. Add-on memory I installed from another vendor, one that supposedly has a good reputation and plays to the performance-oriented over-clocking nerd crowd, was causing my machine to crash.
Switching to this Patriot kit solved my instability problems. What more can you expect from good memory than that?

Strengths: Memory just works, as it should.
Compatible with PC5300 or even older PC4200 systems (runs at slower speed if necessary)
Weaknesses: None
Summary: After getting a new laptop with only 1GB of memory with Vista Home Premimum included, it was clear more memory was needed.
Ordered this memory, and it took less than 2 minutes to swap out the old memory and swap in the new memory in my Compaq laptop, including the time to unscrew and rescrew the bottom memory cover!
The great thing is the system had PC4200 in it, and this is PC5300, but this memory worked flawlessly in the laptop. I even did MemTest86 on it to ensure it will never corrupt my data, and it passed with flying colors.
I later moved it into a newer laptop supporting PC5300 ram and once again it worked flawlessly.
I did not notice any change in amount of fan time / extra heat or any reduced battery life after upgrading from a pair of smaller capacity.

Strengths: Great value, Vista works much faster now. Kept me from needing to downgrade to XP.
Weaknesses: I installed this memory in my Toshiba A135 and it has worked flawlessly. The operating system and applications are much faster now. I haven't overclocked it, and I don't see a need to right now.
Summary: I only wish my laptop would hold more memory. It's maxed out now to 2 GB, and it works fine, but of course I always want more. This Patriot memory works great for my needs.

Strengths: price
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I have one stick in my lenovo notebook and another one in an HP notebook and both work fine. I did have to switch which slot this memory was in before it would work in the lenovo though, but it does work in both notebooks.

Strengths: Fast and reliable when working.
Weaknesses: 1 out of 2 sticks Dead on Arrival.
Summary: I bought this package to upgrade the mem on my Dell Vostro 1500 from 1GB (512MB x 2) to 2GB.
The first order was returned for replacement since 1 out of 2 sticks was DOA. The replacement has been working great for 2 weeks. The boost in system performance when using windows vista is dramatic. Very fast and reliable except for the bad stick!

Strengths: EASY installation, great price and performance, lifetime warranty!
Weaknesses: i think the timings on the ram are average, WHATEVER THAT MEANS
Summary: I've been wanting to upgrade to 2gb ever since i bought my dell e1505 a while back. it came with 1 gb (which i can now resell!) and it only ran at 533mhz. now I have double the ram and it runs at 667mhz! the difference is not OUTRAGEOUS, but it IS most definitely noticeable! apps load faster and there is not such a hang if i'm running like 15 browser tabs in avant and switch to visual studio or whatever i'm running.
great price, and of course, the lifetime warranty is a must. if you have a chance to snag these, then do it!

Strengths: Easy to install and performs great.
Weaknesses: None that I can find yet.
Summary: I put this memory into my wife's Macbook, doubling it from one gig to two. The performance increase was excellent. I don't know much about overclocking heat increase etc so I can't comment to that. Bottom line is that I also have a Dell Inspiron 6400 that can use the same memory so in the future I will be buying more to upgrade that laptop.

Patriot 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMM Memory Kit (1GBx2)
Strengths: Compatible with apple MacBook 13". Cheap
Weaknesses: I don't feel a lot of improvement. I could not have boot camp working. Although this book camp issue may have nothing to do with the memory.
Summary: I installed these RAM into my macbook 13" white. Replaced 1GB RAM with these 2GB RAM. They were recognized after installation.
I don't feel a good improvement in terms of boot time and applications load time. That may be partly due to I am using only basic applications like words and browser.
Boot Camp was not working. I don't know whether that is due to the memory upgrade. I have read from others that upgrading from 1GB to 2GB memory caused boot camp problem. I will try to upgrade my firmware and give it a try again.

Strengths: Easy to install no problems on my laptop
Weaknesses: None
Summary: No problems installing the memory, however I don't do anything special with the memory like over clocking so I can't speak to that. Speed definitely improved with two gigs of RAM in my laptop

Strengths: Fast, Cool running, easy, price
Weaknesses: None
Summary: When I first installed the patriot 2 GB kit I was worried that my MacBook had fried. I couldn't boot up, the screen would not turn on. Fortunately it was just a problem with how far in the chips were. Now the system is much faster with double the memory. I am really happy to support patriot because they are located in CA and the memory is made in the USA!
Great experience, outpost shipped fast!

Strengths: Good quality build, Fast running.
Weaknesses: Packing is not solid, chips losed inside. Not sure it is 128x64 config.
Summary: Patriot 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMM Memory Kit (1GBx2) are good choices for daily use machines. Only concern is the 16 chips on each memory piece the true 128x64 config or not, cause the 8 chips should be cost less CPU then 16 chips config, turn to be faster.
