Strengths: Picture quality - ease of use - space savings

Weaknesses: no off-air tuner - VHS composite in/out only

Summary: I'm one of the holdouts that needs VHS record and playback capability and this model does the job very well. I've always liked products that perform double duties and having the DVD section is very handy. Of course, you can't make copies of copyrighted material, but that's no biggie. My TVs are Samsung also so the lighted universal remote that came with them operate this unit straight out of the box. VHS may be a nearly dead format, but products like this are still breathing a little life into it.

DVD-V6700 combo player - bites the dust

Strengths: It was easy to set up.

Weaknesses: It plays for a couple of months and stops

Summary: I bought the DVD player and it will play for a couple of months and stop. You won't be able to take it back to it's place of purchase. Samsung will drag their feet about getting you the information to send back the product. They gave me a tracking number but never called me back. I faxed them the receipt twice, they say they will not accept a mailed in receipt - it has to be a fax or an email, but they say they have no email address. Now they want me to get a better receipt from Frys to send to them before they will repair the unit. I went to Walmart and bought a Magnovox. So far, I like it better, but it has not been a month yet.
