Summary: Overall good stereo. Speakers are not as powerful as I would have hoped for but they do
sound nice and clear. Having "sleep" button on the remote is very helpful. The volume is not not as high as I would like but that is fine for now. I bought this for my son and he is happy about it. I wished speakers had more watts.
Number of watts per channel are not what's on the box, look at the fine/foot print for details.

Strengths: reads mp3 disks, nice cd sound quality, compact, audio input!
Weaknesses: radio antenna...wish they could come up with a better way to get radio happening in these tuners....flimsy connection for the radio antenna...
Summary: got this for my mom from Amazon...was a great price...fills the need---wanted to replace this awful radio she had, so this one does radio as well as CDs and MP3 CDs....nice compact unit with decent sounding speakers.....remote control is good too....also like that you can do an audio input..plug in any external MP3 player!---this is great!
Two thumbs up!!! WAY UP! :)

Strengths: Small, multi-functional, mp3 compatibility, easy to use
Weaknesses: Weak bass, slightly bland looking
Summary: Good overall mini hi-fi as long as you are not expecting concert hall sound quality. There is a decent level of functionality and it is good to have mp3 compatibility. Useful for a bedroom or as a study music center - not recommended for a full main sound system though. Go in with your eyes open and you'll be happy.

Strengths: Supports mp3 files burned to CD-R
Weaknesses: Bass and AM reception a bit weak
Summary: This is the perfect stereo for my den. I have my iPod hooked up via the axillary port with is what I mainly listen to on this system. It also supports mp3's to be played on CDs, which is a nice feature. A bonus I didn't expect is the built-in clock with 3-way timer and alarm with play, record and sleep functions. Overall a recommended system!

Strengths: Great Sound.
Compact.
Mp3 Capability.
Weaknesses: Little weak on the volume.
Speakers could be better.
Summary: If you are looking for a quality little system for the bedroom or small space, this unit won't disappoint. Very clear sounding with a nice simplistic design. The speakers should be of better quality especially in regards to producing bass but for the most part , this system delivers a crisp sound for most music genres. The mp3 function works well in reading discs without issues and the aux in at the front of the unit is convenient for hooking up your mp3 player to it. Overall a very good purchase and recommended.

 Sony CMT-BX1 Strengths: small size, sound quality, MP3 playback, audio input
Weaknesses: not enough bass
Summary: This is a very competent micro system for the price I paid. It features MP3 capability via CDR as well as audio input. You can burn MP3s on CDR for playback or you can hook up your MP3 player to the audio input jack and listen through this player. Its small size means you can pretty much place this unit anywhere. Speakers are not too big and does have full sound but not enough bass for my taste even with bass level adjusted to high setting. Then again, I would not expect this player to produce bass like a high end system. All in all this is a huge improvement over the Sony boombox it replaced.

Strengths: Easy to Use, Loud for a medium sized room

Summary: I had low expectation of this product, but was surprised to hear loud clear music in my medium sized bedroom. I primarily use it as an alarm in the morning. I would recommend this system.

Summary: 2007-11-14 13:46:29 I bought it for $49.99. Sound quality is quite nice for a product in this price range. It has has sleep timer and alarm functions. It doesn't take up much shelf space and speakers can be detached. We are very happy with our purchase.

Strengths: Compact, elegant, plays MP3 CDs, aux in, AM/FM, timer, clock, alarm
Weaknesses: speakers don't do it full justice; clock doesn't stay on when system is on standby.
Summary: System looks divine, so many features crammed into such an elegant compact frame. When I saw it on Amazon for half the normal price, I couldn't resist pulling the trigger. And I wasn't disappointed. Wonderfully sleek and compact, it can fit into the tiniest of spaces. A host of features crammed into its microframe makes this system worth so much more than what I paid for it. The only weak link would be the speakers: they're no audiophile's dream I guess. But I don't claim to be one; they sound just fine to me. Overall, this one's a keeper.

Decent for its size and price
Strengths: Small, plays MP3s, doubles as an alarm
Weaknesses: Will definitely disappoint audiophiles
Summary: I couldn't believe the sweet deal I got on this micro hi-fi system! Under $50 for a Sony system - I couldn't resist. This system is small and perfect for a small room. I have it in a second bedroom and it functions as an alarm as well. The bass is weak and the sound is not the same as that coming from a larger system, but that is to be expected. Overall, I would give it a thumbs up at a good price.

Strengths: Plays MP3, line-in.
Weaknesses: Sound quality, lookings.
Summary: Great addition to my bedroom, suddenly I have a CD player, an alarm clock, an FM radio. The sound is good in low volume but tend to get distored when the volume is turned up high. Overrall a nice and small system, and I can't complain at the price I paid.

 No good for popular music Strengths: Cheap, sounds good for some music. Can play MP3 discs.
Weaknesses: Weak bass, sound is not clear for some music. Ugly outlook
Summary: I bought this item for $50. It is cheap, and not very bad.
The works well for some 'quiet' music, such as opera. But for popular music, such as rock, it is disppointing. The bass is weak, although I tune it from the remote controller.
Also, its apperence is ugly, really really old fashion.

Summary: Sound is not so bad, I put this in my kid's room. He loves it. The sound is a little bit weak using the stock speaker. Plan to upgrade later.
It has alarm feature, which is nice to remind kids school time.
It was definitely worth the money.
