Strengths: Easy setup and good software interface. Useful LCD display.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: This is my first backup that I've purchased. I decided to buy it when the power went out while my wife was playing in an online poker tournament. It wont keep the computer on for the whole tournament, but it helps if the power does come back on within the hour. Seems to do the job.

Strengths: Battery runtime, LCD providing quick information, 8 Outlets (6 with battery backup), 3 year warranty, Alarm mute
Weaknesses: Only one connection for phone or Ethernet
Summary: This is a good UPS. It has plenty of outlets for my computer setup including peripherals. The LCD provides quick information including battery runtime, load and voltage. There is more than enough capacity for a typical computer setup and it provides long runtime in when the power goes out. With my setup this is about 45 minutes. The PowerChute software that comes with it allows you to easily change settings such as sensitivity, and can display the same information as the LCD. The program shows more information for this UPS than it does for lower models such as the Back-UPS CS line. The coax connections are good for protecting cable modems and it has one set of connections that can be used for either phone lines or Ethernet. You can also mute the alarms, which is useful during a power outage because you can stop the beeping without turning off the unit. The unit has a user replaceable battery. The unit feels and appears well made. Based on APC's reliability record, I would expect to be able to use this unit for as long as I would like, as long as I replace the batteries when needed (every 3-5 years). I would recommend this unit if it fits your needs.

Strengths: Great power reserve.
Weaknesses: None that I have found so far.
Summary: Bought this UPS to put on my big screen LDP television to keep it powered up with loss of electrical power. It does the job. With loss of electricity, the UPS allows me to gracefully power down the television, allowing it to properly cool down - which is very important on this type of big screen. Also, the power company just removed my whole-house electrical supression system so this UPS will serve as the overall surge and spike supression for my televsion, DVR, DVD player, and theater sound systems.
