Strengths: Unbelievable picture looks as good as the Sony SXRD.
Weaknesses: Need more HDMI ports
Summary: Unbelievable picture looks as good as the Sony SXRD. Have an ps3 and Xbox 360 hookup to it through HDMI, and picture is simply beautiful. Madden 2008 is made for this type of TV. Look great in 720p and just think if EA sports would have made the game in 1080p for ps3. XBOX 360 games are great in 1080p. Standard broadcast look better then I thought and regular DVD looks as good as digital TV and this is hookup through component video. For cable or dish you must have an HDMI hookup to the TV to get the best picture. Sound is weak but who cares. The company knows if you going to buy this type of TV you are most likely going to have or buy a home theater system. Great TV for the price why spend 1800 or more for an Mitsubishi DLP or Samsungs DLP and get an one year warranty. Just go to Fry’s and spend 1414.00 and get a 57 Toshiba DLP with a five year warranty. If you don’t won’t a warranty get the TV for 1099.99 plus tax. Plus TV has 3 HDMI port and an digital audio out that control each HDMI port. Great deal frys is the best and would recommend this TV to any one.

CONS:

Only thing I can think of is more HDMI ports. I might get an HD DVD player also, but three is really enough for now.

Comments

When I bought the TV fry’s price match Tiger Direct for 1099.00, unknown if tiger still has TV for this price.

3 Star ReviewNot exactly as advertsied
Strengths: Good prive
Weaknesses: Listed with new but is actually refirbished
Summary: When I spoke to the salesman, Elliot, only when I had placed the order (you must call 800 number to confirm order) did he tell me this was a Toshiba recertified TV that had never been turned on but had been sent back to Toshiba as an open box unit. The Toshibha was listed at Pricegrabber with the other NEW not recertified TV's.

Strengths: very light to its size, vibrant color/picture
Weaknesses: haven't found any yet
Summary: The TV is wonderfull. This is my first HD TV so I don't have much to compare to. For me it came down to this one VS. A Samsung 56" The price of the Toshiba blew the the Samsung away. As far as I could tell the picture quality was equal. The other thing I liked about this one is the tailored stand that the TV fits like a glove on. Lastly If you have the room DLP is the way to go, more bang for the buck.

Strengths: The picture quality is amazing, the overall size is perfect and sound is great as well.
Weaknesses: None so far and hoping to keep it that way.
Summary: I bought this TV for College Football and NFL and OMG its amazing. So big and perfect for anyone looking into getting a 57 inch TV for a low price. Getting HD tomorrow so Im sure it will even be better.
