Summary: ** Common problem with Yamaha computer speaker systems ** I bought the Yamaha YSTMS201W for use with my laptop that I would use in the living room. I placed it on the bottom shelf of the bookcase directly adjacent to where I was gong to use it. When ever I used it I would pull it out and place the sub woofer on the ground in front of the shelf where it sat most of the time. (When doing this I lowered it 1 inch and brought it out from the shelf about 1 foot). After this I would place the satellite speakers on the table just about one foot above the sub woofer. I heard increasing crackling (while use the unit) and I determined that it was coming from the "8 din" cable that come from one of the satellite speakers and connected to the sub woofer. I attempted to jiggle the connector in the socket (similar to a toilet handle), but it increasingly was ineffective in fixing the problem. I emailed Yamaha, faxed proof of purchase, and requested that I would like to get a different product model that didn’t utilize the “8 pin Din” as I had already returned the product once to CompUSA and the problem had thus happened a second time. They stated that all their products, except for the 2 speaker systems, contained the “8 pin Din”. (This is why I suggest that you NOT look any further to buy any Yamaha products). In short, they did give me my money back (taxes not included) after much hassle. I did many times request that I send the unit in so they could see what I was describing. The m
