Strengths: Great Cheap system, made by the best, Yamaha.
Weaknesses: Not many...sound isnt amazing, but is very good.
Summary: I am a musician that was looking for a good speaker system. I found it with the Yamaha YST-MS201. I know your probably thinking that i'm a complete looney, looking at the other reviews given for this product. I love these speakers. They produce a great amount of sound for the money, and in my oppinion the sound is very clear, and the bass is less jumpy, and more precise then my other $100 Logitech 3 piece system. I think that these speakers are a great buy and should be considered by anybody looking for a good set.

Strengths: Inexpensive. Good for sleep music.
Weaknesses: design. components. sound quality
Summary: Ever heard of "you get what you pay for?" lacks clarity and crispness. could have benefited if they used cone shaped tweeters. 30watts of muddy sound from treble to bass. don't buy these unless you really need some kind of sound and all you have is $20. Good only for music to put you sleep. I won't attempt to return these since there is restocking fee. It's good for now until I can afford the Klipsch promedia.

1 Star Review** Common problem with Yamaha computer speaker sys ...
Strengths: Sounds o.k.
Weaknesses: Not durable AT ALL. Once you assemble it, don't move it
Summary: ** Common problem with Yamaha computer speaker systems ** I bought the Yamaha YSTMS201W for use with my laptop that I would use in the living room. I placed it on the bottom shelf of the bookcase directly adjacent to where I was gong to use it. When ever I used it I would pull it out and place the sub woofer on the ground in front of the shelf where it sat most of the time. (When doing this I lowered it 1 inch and brought it out from the shelf about 1 foot). After this I would place the satellite speakers on the table just about one foot above the sub woofer. I heard increasing crackling (while use the unit) and I determined that it was coming from the "8 din" cable that come from one of the satellite speakers and connected to the sub woofer. I attempted to jiggle the connector in the socket (similar to a toilet handle), but it increasingly was ineffective in fixing the problem. I emailed Yamaha, faxed proof of purchase, and requested that I would like to get a different product model that didn’t utilize the “8 pin Din” as I had already returned the product once to CompUSA and the problem had thus happened a second time. They stated that all their products, except for the 2 speaker systems, contained the “8 pin Din”. (This is why I suggest that you NOT look any further to buy any Yamaha products). In short, they did give me my money back (taxes not included) after much hassle. I did many times request that I send the unit in so they could see what I was describing. The m
