Strengths: Thin, portable, good quality pictures, can make 30fps movies.
Weaknesses: None really for the price.
Summary: This is my family's second digital camera, it replaced 2 years old Canon A520, which we broke on vacation. So my opinion is going to be based on comparison of the two. I was willing to buy Canon A series again, but wife wanted slim camera, so this one seemed to be good choice. I am not disappointed. It makes good quality 7mp pictures, with many setup options available for special situations. I like the fact that it can make 640x480 30fps movies with voice and ability to zoom in and out during filmmaking. (A520 had 15fps and no ability to zoom while recording).

There are 2 features I am going to miss from my Canon days:

1. Canon showed with little squares what it focused on. With Nikon you have to put your object in the center of the screen and then frame the picture while holding the button halfway down-just like I used to do with film cameras.

2. I wish they used one or two AAA batteries. You could use rechargeables, in case of low power you buy regular AAA and are but in business in a few minutes. With Nikon I will have to be much more conscious about it: make sure it is charged before a trip, or take a charger with you, even then where do you plug it in when you are on the road.

Strengths: Slim body makes it very portable. Slides into your pocket. Internal batteries help avoid the hassle of carrying rechargeable batteries and a charger.
Weaknesses: Very fragile and delicate. Also, it takes a few seconds to save the picture so clicking multiple shots quickly is somewhat slow.
Summary: A great buy if you can be careful in handling the camera. Batteries are good and last really long. Picture quality is also admirable. Image stabilization makes it suitable for almost anyone who wants to just click a snap.

Strengths: Small, lightweight, good in low light
Weaknesses: Kind of fragile
Summary: Great power in a small package! Nikon gives you many setting options for quality control, which make up a lot for the digital camera's tiny flash. My last camera was stolen in part because it was too big to keep in a pocket. Even with a sturdy case, it fits comfortably in my shirt pocket.

Strengths: Great picture quality, Fast flash. Slim and sheek.
Weaknesses: Nothing found yet!
Summary: Great little camera, will aways buy a nikon camera, had anohter nikon coolpix camera, did not like it only because it took regular AA-batteries, I prefer the rechargable battiers.

Strengths: Very clear pictures, multiple scene settings, sturdy casing, good in low light.
Weaknesses: LCD is dangerously fragile.
Summary: I loved this camera so much I bought it twice. I bought the camera and used it for a few weeks. Took hundreds of pictures and had it with me all over since it's so portable. Low light conditions didn't stop it. Very clear even in those situations. Granted you should take advantage of how the scene menus work but easy enough for my kids to figure out.

But here's the bad part, the LCD is nice and big but I ended up breaking it. It was my own fault but I have heard other people doing the same thing. Watch how you put it in a case. So that the LCD is not by any zippers or rivets to crack the screen when you squeeze the case.

3 Star ReviewCould've been better
Strengths: small, thin, very portable
Weaknesses: problems with low lighting
Summary: I bought this camera for my wife as she doesn't like my big slr-type digital kodak camera. She loves the size as she can just stuff it in her purse and take it out with ease. One thing we noticed is that the prints are not consistent especially in low light situations. The flash doesn't help at all. I haven't read the manual yet so I am guessing there must be some adjustments to be made in order to get an excellent picture.

Strengths: Slim & easy to carry around
Weaknesses: only 2.5 LCD, battery charge is with cable
Summary: My first digital camera was Nikon then I used couple of Sony Cameras. I tried Sony DSC-Txx cameras. I was happy with the camera sizes 99% of the pictures taken with the Sony cameras at night would require red-eye editing with software which really annoyed me. So, I went back to Nikon again.

I am really happy with this purchase. Not only is this camera really slim but also I don't have to worry about the red-eye in the pictures at anymore. The camera looks really nice too. Wish they had 3 inch LCD but then again it came with viewfinder that I could use when the battery is running low.

Another thing that I would have liked is having a battery charger without the cable like the ones that come with Sony cameras.

Other than those, I can't say anything bad about this camera.

2 Star ReviewDoes Not Last Long..
Strengths: Light, slim, compact & portable
Weaknesses: Delicate & sensitive
Summary: I have one with faulty lense after 15 months usage. I sent to Nikon for repair but they said the repair price is higher than the camera's price. Now it useless.
