Strengths: super compact, vibate Reduction (really stable), colorful picture, large LCD, Reasonable price
Weaknesses: battery life, much noise in low-light condition even use only ISO400 , no manual mode
Summary: When I decide to buy this camera, I compared with Sony T100 and Casio EX-V7. Those two are over spec for pocket camera. (I think if you expect really really great picture, you'd better choose a SLR camera instead of a super compact camera, right?) All I need are the strengths of this camera that I said plus long life battery. So I choose this one.

This camera's ISO can be set up to 1600. I thought when I use only 400, the noise should be acceptable. I was wrong. However, I know that all super compact camera cannot solve this problem at this time. I guess not much we can expect from a camera with small lens.

Like all Nikon S-series model, battery life is really short compared with other brand. I can take only 70-80 pictures. If you can afford an addition battery, This is not the problem. I think Nikon already know this problem. I don't know why don't they fix it. If they fix it, I bet this camera couldn't expect less than perfect super compact camera.

Strengths: Easy to use, bright 3 inch screen, vibration reduction (by lens) to produce sharp image in low light, very very slim
Weaknesses: No manual operation to control shutter speed and aperture
Summary: A great product from Nikon. I bought this for my girlfriend who have no idea about photography. So, I need an idiot-proof camera that let her take nice photos with ease and with style. I love photographing, so I want her to be happy with it, too. I own several DSLR, but she will not enjoy them for sure.

This is the right one for her. All she needs is to turn on, point, and shoot. If she wants to take a portrait, she just press "portrait" button , and the camera find people face for her. If she want to take picture in low light condition with no flash, she press the other button "anti hand shake" button, and the camera increase the ISO and apply "Best shot selector" (BSS). The camera would take many pictures and choose the sharpest one for her.

Vibration reduction (VR) is really work in low light... It is almost a guarantee for her to get a sharp picture...

The design is gorgeous. It is very slim, which is good for her small hand.

Start up is really fast since there is no need to wait lens to come out (a lot faster than canon SD750)

Conclusion:

If you want to have a real working idiot-proof camera, get this one.

Strengths: size, style, anti-vibration, picture quality
Weaknesses: battery life
Summary: really, this is the best camera i've ever had. it's pictures are great. i love that the lens doesn't jut out of the body -- which mean i can just slide the whole thing in my pants pocket and not feel like i'm a smuggler. my only complaint is the battery life. go on a great trip where you're taking pictures all day and the battery will die before the sun goes down. i learned the hard way: always carry a spare!

Strengths: Small, awesome LCD, true VR
Weaknesses: slow startup, no manual mode
Summary: I bought this camera for my wife because she does not enjoy using my DSLR. My criteria for selecting this camera was size and picture quality. For the most part, this camera fits the bill perfectly. Bonuses are the large, beautiful LCD screen that my wife enjoys using and the face recognition. One important feature is the true VR. Several cameras claim VR but simply up the ISO to increase shutter speed. This can result in lower quality images. This camera actually stabilizes the sensor, allowing the ISO to remain low. This is good because the high ISO performance on this camera is honestly a little lower than expected. Anything above 400 will have unwanted noise. Finally, if you enjoy changing manual settings, this camera is not for you. As a SLR user, I find it frustrating that I can hardly change anything. My wife, on the other hand, loves it that way as she can't mess anything up.

Weaknesses: not found yet
Summary: I brought this camera in April. This little guy is nice!!

It is very light and has a very big LCD and resolution. I like the vibration reduction zoom feature which is very good for dummy. Friendly interface, pretty easy to use. My girl friend loves it as well. It is a best suit for girls.
