 Haier HPIM35W Counter top Ice Maker Strengths: It does make ice quickly when it works and is fairly quiet
Weaknesses: Does not auto reset if there is a power failure and all the ice melts if you do not start it back up. IE might want to stick it on a UPS in prone electrical outage areas. Few replacement parts.
Summary: My sync motor failed in a few weeks. That moves the water container and pushes the ice into the tray. This vital and simple part is not available for replacement. They claim they have to exchange the entire unit for this 25.00 part> At this point who pays for the exchange and how it works is currently not known and a work in progress. If you are outside the USA, you have to get it back to the USA in hopes of the Exchange to take place. So, get full details on warranty and how it works before you buy one
This unit should not be bought for use outside the USA or anywhere else where Power is not good,constant and clean.
