Yes, this game is repetitive motion, but that is fun of the whole thing too. You build upon your skills along the way to see how much faster and better you can get to finish off each level and how you can make each of the customers happy. I was addicted to the PC version of this game, and I was excited that I could bring a portable version around keep me busy during those long commutes on public transit. The game is essentially the same as the PC Version, but the scroll started to drive me bonkers and made me lose precious time. As you know with any game, time is the important element. That essentially kill my enthusiasm for the game. I wasn't topping my records, I was just spending more time in scroll hell. Still a fun game, but not if you are trying to best yourself. Summary: 2008-03-07 09:32:26 We got this game for our 6-year-old who is fascinated with baking. She does not spend more than 5 minutes there -- says it is too difficult and boring. When I tried it, it seems to require repetitive motions and no imagination. You must hit the icons on the screen to prepare your cake. Strengths: It's a perfect port of the PC game + expansion pack all into the fun and portability of the DS Lite. Using the stylus in place of the mouse is a great substitute! Weaknesses: It takes some time to get used to (maybe an hour?), but once you get the hang of it it's easy to control and understand how to use the game/stylus. The game IS much easier as a PC game, though. Summary: Overall, if you enjoyed the PC game you will have no complaints about this. It's a portable version with touch screen controls, so in other words it's a great purchase. It's budget title too, so it starts at $20. Just do not expect to much to change other than the level of difficulty and the customers. Cake Mania for the Nintendo DS cost only $20 and is well worth the purchase.
