Strengths: Very easy to use, but full-featured. Included battery and charger. Fantastic pictures. Lots of manual controls and special features.
Weaknesses: Image manipulation software is very basic, inability to allow LCD preview to stay on when the battery gets low.
Summary: I've taken about 1,500 pictures with this camera. With the exception of the ones I've been playing with, they've all turned out crisp, sharp and well balanced. In most cases, the camera does such a good job on color and light balance that you'll not need the flash (many times its actually better w/o the flash). Both program and aperature priority modes produce great pictures. Battery time has not been a problem in moderate shooting over a 2 1/2 hour period. Cycle time shot-to-shot allow you are no more than 1 second up to four shots. I've been very pleased with the camera's performance and would buy it again.

Strengths: great high res. pictures, many options to various conditions
Weaknesses: somewhat weak indoor shots with poor lighting in auto mode, flash is not very strong in large rooms
Summary: I love this camera and would tell anyone serious about digital photography to look into it.It is my 3rd Kodak and have had no problems with any of the models. The DC 4800 is the closest thing to a 35mm in having full control over pictures that I have used and prefer it over any of my other cameras.
