Strengths: It supports the latest upgrades I had on my computer Windows Vista Home Edition I had doubt but evry thinfg went smooth without any problem.
Weaknesses: Unfortunately I could not find any manual but I got it on online.
Summary: I got this without the software usually it comes with software but I have software Nero Software and is working fine and more over this is Double Layer DVD burner I did not think about the Double Layer When I Ordered.

Strengths: Durable and strong chassis disc ejection tray
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I have always been fully satisfied with Pioneer DVD recorders. This one was a replacement for a Pioneer DVR-108 that has worked for me for four years. I've already burnt six Memorex DVD+R discs rated at 16x speed at 8x speed. DVD is quieter than my previous recorder. The price was right and this dvd recorder met my needs despite not having lightscribe capability.

Strengths: It sports the latest upgrades and innovations that Pioneer has to offer. It is a only a meager step up from the DVR-111D, but has refined options that premiered in the 111 and well worth the upgrade.
Weaknesses: Is a little more finicky with poor or bad media.
Summary: All my gear that has anything to do with Audio/Video has been Pioneer since they first started making it. Their Elite lines beyond compare. So I have come to rely on the fact that Pioneer is the way to go and that you have less problems all around. I have read simple one line professional reviews on the DVR lines and they all basically say if you want to do it right . . . go Pioneer. Since I depend on Pioneer Audio/Video gear I have the same confidence in their computer accessories and can think of no other. Even when looking at unit with really great "toy" features, I still stick with the "work horse" of the industry. Pioneer.

Strengths: Great reviews
Weaknesses: Instructional sheet was huge in size (due to 3 languages)
Summary: Will let you know how it works out after I use it for a longer period. So far, so good. The reviews have been great. Not sure if I wanto download hacked f/w and void the warranty though.

Strengths: Good price. Installed easily and performs very well.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I needed a replacement DVD drive and this one fit the bill. To date, I've had no problems and it was easy to install and configure. I would recommend it to anyone who would use it casually as I do.
