Strengths: Solid hardware configuration, dedicated GeForce4 video, not bloated with unnecessary software, Nero 6 preloaded.
Weaknesses: Durability yet to be seen. (UPDATE: 1.5 years and still going strong)
Summary: 2005-11-19 01:40:21 I agree with docrwm, this is a fine machine. I've never been a fan of eMachines, but this model has changed my mind. It was purchased as a basic home office workhorse that might occasionally have some multi-media duties. It's a whole hell of a lot of machine for the price. I opened it up to add another hard drive and I too was surprised to see the care put into the construction. Loaded with XP Home I was also pleasantly surprised to see it not bloated with a lot of junk software. I removed a few applications but didn't have to go through the uninstall routine I usually have with say a Compaq. There actually is one program called BigFix, that keeps you informed of updates to hardware and software on the machine. What I liked about it was, amongst other things, it informs you about updates available for Office products, something often overlooked. I say it's a keeper. Lastly, in my experience, you just don't see a machine in this price range that has dedicated video memory, they are mostly shared. Other than seeing how well this machine holds up over time, it looks like a solid choice.
