Strengths: Many functions
Weaknesses: Lack of plastic protective case and hard to use iPod function.
Summary: I got this deck for my boyfriend a week ago and I love it. From its pretty blue back light to this numerous functions, there has never been a time when I regret buying it. Not only is it a CD and radio player, it's also plays MP3s, plays directly from an iPod, plays from a USB flash drive, and plays through AUX.
The speed that this deck reads from a USB flash drive varies. If you have a lot of files that are not MP3s, it will take a longer time to read it. But, if the flash drive has mostly MP3s and less other files, then it'll read pretty quickly.
The direct iPod connection is what really bought me to buy this deck. However, when I tried it, it's not a simple function at all. The iPod screen blanks out to the Xplod logo, so you would not see what song is playing next or use the iPod's controls. The deck itself does not tell you the song titles either. So, if you have the iPod shuffling with all the songs, it will play that. What you can control is going to the next or previous song, choose by Artist, Playlist, and something else I cannot remember on the top of my head. But on the other hand, it charges the iPod!
What I use instead of the direct iPod connection is the AUX. I can see what's playing on the iPod and I can control what can be played. All you need is the audio wire that can be obtained anywhere. I got mines for $3 at Fry's.
Another little thing that disappointed me was the lack of the plastic case. Sony should've included a plastic case for the price of this deck. I don't want this deck face to be scratched, and not having a protective case would make it difficult.
The reason why I put four stars is because of the difficult iPod function and the lack of a case. All in all, I'm very pleased with the product. Again, there has not been a day that I regret buying this deck for him.

Strengths: Good Sound, Easy to use controls, fair FM reception, Lots of features for MP3, IPOD and USB flash drive connections.
Weaknesses: Flash drive play from start and skip songs one by one are the only choices. Starts at the beginning on power on. Which limits the use of this feature.
Summary: I bought this to replace the Sony XR-C2200 in my 91 Ford Explorer that the FM tuner stopped working only after a few years of operation. Installation was a snap once I figured how to unlatch the old unit form the single DIN frame in the dash. Keys are on the top for the XR and sides for the CDX. The connectors were the same for both units so it was plug the existing connector in and slide it in the dash. I was able to feed the IPOD cable down and it sits in the slide out ash tray. A few adjustments to the EQ and Fader controls and it brought new life to the old stock speakers. Got to like the blue lighting and Sony makes a very solid stereo. With the great price I got I am very pleased all around.

Strengths: Price and inputs, hands down
Weaknesses: Equalizer customization.
Summary: This head unit is definitely function over form. I went from a Pioneer 840mp to this one because my Pioneer recently gave out after about 3 years of use.
I rarely use CD's, I always have my 4gb USB flash plugged in and the quality of sound is pretty good. I just wish I could fine tune the equalizer settings like my Pioneer, but for a sub $200 head unit, I think it's a very decent price. I would recommend this head unit to friends and family members.

Strengths: -Sleek design
-Satellite radio ready
-ipod ready
-USB input
-Front auxillary input
-wireless remote
Weaknesses: -none
Summary: Sony got a lot of things right with this car CD player. I needed a CD player that was satellite ready and this was the best of the bunch. If you have an mp3 player, ipod or flash/pen drive(s) this is a no-brainer. The only feature I wish it also had was bluetooth technology but I can live without that. The sound quality is definitely better than the factory system I had.

Strengths: Perfect for the iPod, amazingly full sound with the proper amplifier and speakers. Easy to install. Easy to operate. The equalizer function is awesome. Everything I expected and more.
Weaknesses: It would be good if you could operate the iPod while it was connected to the unit.
Summary: The Sony CDX-GT610UI In-Dash CD/MP3 Player is a perfect mate for the 2G 8 Gig Apple iPod Nano. I use the iPod more than I used the radio or CDs now. So when I'm on long trips, I don't have to worry about searching for CDs and CD cases. All the music I want to hear when I want to hear it. Excellent features, sounds great, and easy-to-use. Also, the auxiliary input works just as good. I highly recommend this unit.

Strengths: It has everything you need in a single disc CD player; USB, MP3/WMA, iPOD, and power.
Weaknesses: Doesn't come with a case for the detachable face plate and the iPod connection cable could be longer.
Summary: Bought this player to fit the basic needs. It is a fantastic unit in that it will allow for Sirius/XM and has everything you could need in a single disc player for under $150. You simply can't beat a price like that with all the functionality. If you aren't sporting some baller system and need something for your daily driver, this is a great unit.

Strengths: 1. This unit has many functions. 2. Moderately priced/great value for all the functions. 3. The majority of the unit functions can be accessed from the front. 4. Charges/plays your Ipod.
Weaknesses: The control of the Ipod is somewhat limited if plugged into the dock connector.
Summary: The Sony CDX-GT610UI in-dash cd player is a great unit and has many functions. You can plug your Ipod directly into the unit's dock connector without an additional adapter. It charges your Ipod and provides some limited control, however, you cannot control your Ipod as you would normally. In order to control your Ipod using the click wheel and see the info on it's screen, you will need a cable to connect your Ipod thru the Aux input.
This unit is stylish and has many functions which are accessible from the front of the unit. It has an Aux and USB input on the front of the unit. It plays cd's/mp3/aac/wma files and comes with a remote control. Sony units have a high signal-to-noise ratio (higher is better).

Strengths: It provides for the flash drive, Ipod, and zune.
Weaknesses: The Ipod has its unstable moments.
Summary: The unit is one of the best on the market for my intent. The fact that this unit provides the flash drive connect and the other devices make it an excellent car radio for the the market. The services on the music make this one of the best on the market and for the price.
