Strengths: 2ms response time, brightness presets, both VGA and DVI capabilities, nice glossy finish
Weaknesses: A bit short (height-wise)
Summary: 2008-07-01 19:04:02 I have used this monitor on two seperate computers to see how it would perform on an old PC and a high-end gamer PC.
It performed as well as it should on the older PC with no ghosting through normal applications.
On the gamer PC, I had no problems running Quake 4 and Warcraft. It seemed to have a tiny bit of ghosting during intense sessions of Quake or any other FPS games, but it could possibly be myself getting used to a LCD screen as opposed to a CRT.
Height wise, the monitor seemed a bit too short for my liking. The distance from my table to where the actual screen begins is only 3.5 inches as opposed to the 5.5 inches for my CRT. Both are 19" screens. I say this is a downside since Samsung does not offer a similar model with an adjustable height.
The other reviewers complain about a DVI cable not being included. What I don't think they realize is that the majority of people do not own a DVI enabled computer. Samsung probably has done this to cut down on costs.
So far no dead pixels, got a good deal, 3 year warrranty, and the monitor looks fantastic...even when powered off.
I'd give it a 4.5, but there is no option for that...

Strengths: - bright screen and clear display both analog and digital
Weaknesses: - no digital cables included
- no drivers for other than Windows Vista
Summary: I bought this monitor as a part of my upgrade to Windows Vista. When they say that it's vista capable, you can be assured that it's so. The monitor is crisp and clean, and the colors are spectacular. Fonts read well and the widescreen gives you a whole vista (no pun intended) to work with. The settings let you tweak the display to your perfection, and there's a few auto settings built in whether you're in the office, gaming, or watching movies on the screen. Furthermore, it doesn't look perfect just on the digital front; I have the monitor KVM'ed to an older WinXP computer, and the analog feed looks nearly as good as digital, and light years above any other system. There are, however, some minor issues that dent an otherwise stellar performance, and note that these problems are not the problems of the monitor, but rather that of Samsung itself. For starters, for such a gorgeous monitor with stellar digital performance, why is there no digital cable? There's not even a DVI adapter to go with the supplied analog cable. Second, unless you're running Vista already (where a driver is auto installed), there's no other driver available to date - not on any site out there, not even on Samsung's own website and most certainly (and most embarrassingly) not on the installation disc that is provided with the monitor. This is rather amateurish mistakes for a global company, so hopefully they'll get with the program soon and fix this issue. Mistakes aside, it's not enough to damage the reputation of the monitor. If you have to get yourself a new LCD, this is the one to get.

Underwhelmed
Strengths: Finish, the thing is really beautiful. Color (if your color accuracy needs are basic)
Weaknesses: Ghosting on patterned backgrounds. difficult monitor control system (have to reach under and press buttons you can't see) No height adjustment. Sits too low on desk for my taste, had to prop up on box
Summary: This monitor sits next to a $129 Veiwsonic of the same size. Colors are a little more accurate but not by much and a little brighter. However with a vaunted 2ms response time, it under performs compared to the viewsonic when scrolling busy backgrounds, playing video (DVD qulity), and games. There is noticeable ghosting in all of those. Although I should point out that this is only obvious when comparing it side-to-side with the viewsonic. Also I bought this monitor because I need to have very accurate color matching and the viewsonic was not up to the task. Well this one isn't either, by far. I have to go to my old Sony CRT still when doing critical color work. It is superior to the $129 ViewSonic, but is it $100 better?...not for me, it was not.

Strengths: 19" widescreen, 2000:1 contrast, beautiful LCD
Weaknesses: no DVI
Summary: I can't say anything bad about this LCD. I love it, its bright and all the games look great on it. I'm impress with this LCD. The only weird thing was it didn't come with a DVI cable, or an adoptor for it.
so I did have to purchase it. The quality is much better than VGA. I plan on buying another one.

Strengths: Bright, Crisp, Fast, Large range of supported resolutions
Weaknesses: No digital cables included
Summary: Even though no digital cable is included, the monitor looks FANTASTIC via 15-pin DSub analog cable. I had no issues with the drivers. I'm running WinXP Pro.

Strengths: 2ms is great so is 2000:1 Contrast I play a-lot of games and this monitor has blown me away. FANTASTIC colors!
Weaknesses: no DVI this really caused me a bit of a hassle but I used an adapter instead and I compared to to one with the DVI cable and really didnt see much of a difference.
Summary: Overall this monitor is FANTASTIC I wish it had a bigger stand but that really isnt a big issue, works great on games such as CS:Source,F.E.A.R,Half Life 2:Deathmatch, Rainbow Six Vegas,Battlefield 2142 and many other games. Definantly worth the money.Moving from a 19" CRT and this monitor REALLY Satisfies me.

Strengths: Cheap after rebate, fast response at 2ms, high dynamic contrast at 2000:1. Very nice design with glossy black finish.
Weaknesses: Blurry display, use DVI connection but couldnt help much.
Summary: Display is worst than my previous SyncMaster 941BW which is cheaper and at 500:1 constrast. I expected this model would be a better model that could deliver sharper image but I was wrong. I could have bought another Syncmaster 941BW with better display and $30 cheaper.

Strengths: 2000:1 contrast
16:10 aspect ratio
1440 x 900 (WXGA+) resolution
The monitor is VESA compatible, so you can mount it on a wall if you want to.
Weaknesses: No DVI Cable Included
No Verticle Tilt
Summary: Great monitor! Perfectly crisp picture.
No blown pixels. A steal at the price!
If you're in the market for a good midrange LCD, look no further.
Make sure that your video card works for widescreen. My friend also bought this monitor, but he also had to buy a new videocard.

Strengths: 2 ms response time. 2000:1 contrast ratio. Crisp picture. Vivid colors. DVI cable included.
Weaknesses: None. This monitor is a steal.
Summary: Sharp, great response time, excellent video gaming support thus far. I have played Far Cry, Company of Heroes, Age of Empires III, and Supreme Commander with no problems. I haven't noticed any ghosting. Mwave got this delivered in great time with absolutely no problems. Will definitely keep Mwave in mind on future purchases.

Strengths: clear, beautiful display.
Weaknesses: None at the moment.
Summary: Perfect size for a lcd monitor for general purposes (multimedia, work, etc.). Easy to assemble/install. Very fast response time. Bright, accurate color. I like the simplicity of the frame design a lot because all the buttons are hidden... even though some people might find it difficult to use.

Strengths: -Very nice to look at, clean and professional
-2ms Response Time is great for gaming
-Wall Mountable
Weaknesses: -Bright power LED button
-Stand can seem weak
Summary: When I unpacked this thing I was surprised out how big it was. There are so many 20",22", and 24" LCD monitors on the market, but I didn't want them to take up desk space. So, I opted for a 19" and I am very impressed. Samsung has some of the best monitors around and this will not disappoint.
Screen is great for gaming and watching movies. I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone that is on a budget and would like a flat screen setup.

Strengths: Contrast 2000:1, 2ms RT 3yr warranty, Cheap.
Weaknesses: No USB, NO DVI cable, Needs a stand or height adjustment, its too short.
Summary: Well aside from no USB, height issues and not including the DVI cable samsung did a good job with this product. I love playing HL2 on it the picture quality is great. Having the wide screen for Photoshop and flash been great.
I'm really happy with this LCD, games look fantastic and work can be done easily with the wide screen can't ask for more. Also 3 year warranty is just a bonus.
I give it 4 out of 5, 4 cuz they should have included the DVI cable atleast.
