2 Star ReviewNo XP drivers, no Linux drivers only Vista. Sony is too lazy to allow a choice.
Strengths: To dissapointed in Sony to discuss strengths.
Weaknesses: As long as you never want to run any OS other than Vista you're fine. Sort of like buying a car that can only run on Marathon gas. A PITA!
Summary: An on-line chat with Sony support did no good. All that happened was the tech relaying that it was such a bad idea to try and run XP because Vista is so much more advanced (i.e.. Fat and slow). Thanks but I can make up my own mind, don't need Sony or Sony's techs telling me what OS is better. Just give me drivers so I can run the worlds most prevalent OS on this notebook.

2 Star ReviewGood looking but a bit under performed
Strengths: Sleek looking, comfortable keyboard and nice screen
Weaknesses: A little under power for MS Vista
Summary: This is a beautifully built machine with sleek lines and nice keyboard. The display is crisp and resolution is good. However, for MS Vista, it is under power for boot-up and running modes. Do not play a lot of games on this computer, but would not recommend it. If you are heavy computer user, this is not really a machine for you. However, for surfing that web and checking email, should be fine.

Strengths: Bright, crisp and vivid screen, Duo core processor with 1GB DDR2 RAM
Weaknesses: Windows Vista
Summary: If Windows XP is installed, this machine will be blazing fast and powerful enough for most things except gaming and some heavy duty video editing. But it has Vista on it which slows the whole system in general. It has a great screen. Bright and vivid. Very pleasing. The design is thinner than most 15.4" notebook and with clean keyboard & touch pad layout. Like most system, it is loaded with all sort of trial software. But it is already a lot less than Dell and HP machines. Key feel needs some getting used to if you never own a Sony Vaio before. All in all, a good machine for the price (premium for Sony) sans Vista.

Strengths: Very good look, great price, Core Duo
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Another nice looking good sony product at very good price. It's fast enough for regular use and unless you run too many softwares at the same time, but again that's the problem with vista, nothing with Sony.
