Strengths: Very fast (Core 2 Duo and 2Gb 667 RAM), generally quiet, great build quality
Weaknesses: noisy DVD drive, all ports are on the sides, lacks bluetooth
Summary: I purchased this awesome laptop around 2 weeks ago from a local store, and all the minor cons aside, it has really been a terrific experience. Previously I owned a dell inspiron 8100.
When comparing this laptop to my older dell, well... there really isn't any point in doing so. My dell had a Pentium III processor and 256 RAM, floppy and DVD/CD combo drives, and it weighted around 10 lbs. I was going to purchase either the dell 1505 or the 1405 after reading some good reviews, but relented because honestly, I was disappointed in dell's build quality (the screen on my old one malfunctioned within two years). So I decided to try an HP.
For starters, the dv6275 is packed with features, some more useful than others. It came bundled with a TV tuner express card and antenna, which functions like a dvr. HP's little remote is a nice quirk, especially if you like to watch movies. The graphics card, nvidia Go 7400, is great for everyday use and occasional gaming (note that the Vista pretty much requires a discrete video card). I have yet to try some things like lightscribe label burning.
As the saying goes, nothing is perfect, and there are definitely some minor flaws with this laptop. As you may have already heard, though the glossy finish is quite fantastic, it is also a fingerprint absorber. The dvd drive is kinda noisy, but then again, the one on my dell's was far worse. I should point out that mine emits a strange buzzing sound when the system is idle, but this can be fixed by a freeware.
