Summary: The El Carmagne 530 is a lightweight general-purpose carbon-fiber tripod with a built-in 3-way pan head. The tripod itself is very nice - the upper leg sections have neoprene padding protection, and the lower sections have markers that make it easier to accurately adjust the height. The quick release mechanism of the legs is well built and tightens fast and strong. Despite its very light weight, the tripod is steady even when fully extended to its 65" height, and the center column can be easily mounted upside-down for close-up macro work. The 3-way head is pretty basic, but not bad. However, you cannot easily disassemble the head and put another one instead, which is a drawback.
