Strengths: Very easy set up, very fast, great range
Weaknesses: price
Summary: ok, i have had a lot of routers (b and g) and this one takes the cake. it gets a consistent 270mbps from about 50-60 feet outside of my house and dosen't drop, the signal strength may only be 25%, but the mbps is still 270! that is enough to convince me this router is superior to anything i've tried. i put the installation disk in and about 3 minutes later i was surfing as fast as i would hardwired into my router. can download gigabite files about 10 times faster than a wireless G router at 100% signal strength (54mbps) this is a great product, i did not experience any problems so far and my wireless network is great. i also play xbox 360 and ps3, using a Wireless G connection and this router still does great handling both type of frequencies without any drop in performance. great product, i give this a 10 out of 10. i am very happy with this router. do not hesitate to buy this!

Strengths: Fast and works great with Vista. Strong signal in three-story condo.
Weaknesses: Slow to get up and running. Will need to tweak settings a bit and possibly download hotfix for WPA2 on XP (not documented in product literature)
Summary: You will need a hotfix from Microsoft for Windows XP if you want WPA2 wireless security (KB893357).

Also, on Windows XP, you should run the Dr Tcp tweak program and set your "Tcp Receive Window" to 513920 for optimum speed.

Works great with Vista laptops - no changes needed.

Have not tested with Wireless-N but Wireless-G adapters work great and are very fast - well worth the upgrade even if you don't go to N straightaway.

Gigabit hardwired networking is fantastic. Very fast as well.

Finally, be sure to flash the ROM to 1.00.3 and restore to factory defaults after the flash. Apparently Linksys included some performance optimizations which did NOT get applied until I restored factory defaults after flashing the ROM.

Strengths: easy to install
Weaknesses: high price
Summary: 2008-01-14 12:13:35 I got this router in order to replace my Linksys WRT540G. So, it did allow me to move up from wireless g to wireless n. I got this specific router because it is being promoted as a gaming router. However, my 14-year-old daughter, who is the big time online gamer, has been too busy to put it to the test. My wife likes to watch streaming video. However, she is still connected via a 100MB NIC and has not tapped into the true speed of this router. Not all that impressed so far, but I have not really been able to evaluate the router’s full potential.

Strengths: Wireless N. Handles lots of traffic. Looks nice.
Weaknesses: Buggy with Intel 4965 wireless card
Summary: First of all, this is definately one of the best routers out there. Many applications can be run at one time in lightning speed. This router is definately more expensive than the basic 54g but the features make it worth the extra cost. I noticed that it had some trouble connecting to my laptop wireless N card which is an Intel 4965. Make sure you get compatible cards and you will be very happy for going to the high end router.

Strengths: Speed, Range, Easy Setup.
Weaknesses: Price
Summary: Works great with a slew of products. I have multiple Tivo's, a Wii, PS3, laptops, and desktops. I have yet to see drop in speed. You have a load of configuration possibilities. I have previously been an exclusive Netgear fan, but decided to give the Linksys router a shot. I am impressed with this router so far. I would recommend this router to anyone needing a high speed router with great range and security.
