Strengths: Detachable face plate, beautiful aesthetics, great audio, features galore
Weaknesses: Only has blue light/LCD, hard to reach FF/REV buttons
Summary: 2007-04-06 19:50:44 I bought this baby from C.C. when it was on sale and was pleasantly surprised. Not only is it gorgeous to look at when off and on, the audio modes after some tweaking produce some of the best sound possible. It has many audio tweaking features including Bass Boost, Crossover with selectable cutoff frequency (HPF), High frequency boost (proprietarily labeled PIE, custom 3-level two-way EQ's and the option to switch gate the lower frequencies to the rear speaker and/or Subwoofer(s). The sound is clean and transparent, unlike some Kenwood and Panasonic heads I have owned. It handles MP3 with ease, and its MP3 navigational system is intuitive if a bit primordial. The only negatives I have with this unit is that it has an undimmable blue glow/LCD that can be a bit bright at night, and that the buttons for common functions like FF/REV, radio station scanning and folder selection are very small (located on 4 sides of the big central button) and hard to reach while driving. Its MOSFET amplification power is also a bit underwhelming if you have any speakers bigger than 5.5" (subwoofers will need their own amps of course). But overall a nice surprise for an audiophile.

Strengths: Smooth design, Loudness feature adds helluva thump
Weaknesses: Ipod Nav is a little tricky
Summary: Just got this installed a few days ago and am overall pleased with the purchase. My subs can handle quite a bit more power than the my current amp and this receive provide combined. Nonetheless, I keep the 'Loudness' feature on this unit turned off at most times because it adds such a thump. I like the way this Pioneer looks in my dash and since BestBuy threw in the iPod cable w/ purchase and installed the unit for free as well, I am a happy camper. Still tryin to figure out how to nav through this unit's iPod interface quickly and with ease - not sure if I can skip through multiple files/folders as quickly as the iPod itself would allow - but I am a fan of this mid-priced unit.

Strengths: Too many audio options to list them all, so far I've been really impressed. It's got great sound and lots of cool features.
Weaknesses: I don't like the huge iPod adapter coming out the back of the deck. It is getting in the way of one of the car's cupholders since there's no way to tie it down to keep it out of the way.
Summary: 2007-05-13 13:20:34 This is my 3rd MP3/WMA CD deck that I have purchased. I wish I would have discovered it sooner as I am really impressed with its sound. The buttons to switch songs are a little hard to reach, so I'll likely use the included remote. I'm also going to have to spend more time on the owners manual learning what all the menu functions are for. But it's still a great deck for the price you pay. I would definitely recommend it to somebody considering buying it.

Strengths: Visually appealing. Built-in Rear Auxiliary Input (Seamlessly interfaces with Sirius Add-on.)
Weaknesses: Navigation is not 100% intuitive.
Summary: Overall, this is a very nice unit. It looks cool and has a lot of the features desired in today's receivers. For me, the important features included it being Sirius ready and have a rear auxillary input. I connected the Pioneer SIR-PNR2 Sirius Satellite Radio Add-on to this receiver; it interfaces seamlessly. I don't like the lack of features on the SIR-PNR2, but that's for a different review. The navigation is not 100% intuitive. I've used many, many receivers but this one was difficult to figure out without the use of the manual.

Strengths: good looks simple face, lots of upgrade options
Weaknesses: large volume button makes pressing ff button akward,
Summary: simple to install, did it myself

plays all cds. the unit is very sensitive in reading cds, it will read but you will hear the skips on a poorly ripped cd.

over sound is ok

i got it to replace my factory headunit and to add a amp and sub.

lots of function and configuration. however you need to scroll through many menus to get to certian options ie balance, fade, bass...

overall best unit for the price
