Strengths: big, bright, beautiful
Weaknesses: cheap looking remote
Summary: I've been having the DLP/LCD/Plasma debate with myself for a couple months now. I found this through PriceGrabber and thought there was a misprint. The features and size on this model are comparable to TVs that sell for $500 more or a 10" smaller set. I set it up plugged in the ol' xbox360 and haven't looked back. First thoughts after setup: "Holy crap that's a big TV!" (upgrading from 36" tube). It automatically discovers the equipment that you plug into it. The picture's awesome! No rainbows or any other visual problems. Default settings had contrast set to max and the brightness set to Uber bright demo mode. After turning all that down it's still quite impressive. I don't know what the "TurboLight" system is but it apparently focuses light more efficiently. The remote is kinda cheezey but it's intuitive. It has small sound for such a large set but that's ok. If you don't already have a sound system of some kind you need to keep shopping. I also got the warranty with this model because it was so much cheaper than similar models. I figure if nothing ever goes wrong then I still win. There's still no right answer to the "which flatscreen technology" question. If price is a major factor then get this TV. I've never been hapier with a product that I did so much research for.
