light, fast, reliable hard drive (maxtor onc touch III portable)

Summary: I travel a lot and need to back up my important files. This compact and fast drive help me a lot. It has two usb connectors to power the driver up in case that your pc can't provide enough power. I read reviews saying that their portalbe dirve was not able to be powered up and lost all files in it. So I paid attention not to get into a driver with single connector. Anyway, I just used it as external driver and didn't install the enclosed softwares. I don't think they are useful. Conclusions: highly recmommend to have this if the price falls into your catagory.

fast, reliable portable drive

Strengths: fast, compact, requires no external power

Summary: 2008-07-03 07:29:55 I'm very pleased so far. It looks good and transfers were fast. Most of all, it's reliable. This is my 2nd portable drive. I had one before which caused lots of trouble. My previous one had only one usb connector which was not able to provide enough power for the drive. Frequent failure of my previous portable drive let me lost tons of priceless files. So, I determined to have anothe one having two usb connectors than will never failure to power the drive up.
