Strengths: A rechargeable lithium-ion battery and docking station. Color LCD screen. Slimmer, better design.
Weaknesses: Could be better charging dock design. No back-lit button.
Summary: I bought this 720 remote control to replace my Harmony 620. The design is better looking. The main advantage of 720 is the color LCD screen and rechargeable battery with provided charging dock. The 128x160 color LCD screen is still fairly low-resolution, but it's certainly a step up from a monochrome screen: The activity-based icons are now a little cleaner-looking and easier to read in color than in grayscale. Like the 880 and 890, the Logitech Harmony 720 includes a docking station for juicing up the included rechargeable lithium-ion battery; you simply place the remote in its cradle. In terms of programming the remote, the 720 works in the same way that other Harmony remotes do.

In summary, 720 is a nice looking Harmony remote control with no more/less feature than most of the Harmony remote control. And for $60, I am pretty happy with it.

Strengths: Relatively easy to program; nice form factor in hand; colorful display
Weaknesses: Slow customer support; expensive
Summary: I have gone thru several Harmony remotes over the past few years, upgrading along the way. I replaced a 688 with this 720, as I read that it is pretty much the same functionality as an 880. Insides, this is the case, but certainly not from the outside. The form-factor is completely different, with a different button layout and jog-dial. Overall, I'm very happy with it. I like the fact that it's not so "fat" as the 880 is. The screen seems brighter, and the buttons seem better laid out. I like the bright activity button on the top. I usually have to hunt and peck for the desired button on my 880, so it looks like they have taken feedback from users.

It has the same funkiness as the 880, in that the terminals on the unit to not make good-contact with the charging station. You need to jiggle it a bit sometimes.

Strengths: Color screen, rechargeable battery.
Weaknesses: Buttons are small, not as easy to grasp as a contoured design.
Summary: I am very happy with this remote as it is the only one I found to fully work my Olevia LCD monitor/TV. The remote wakes up (screen and buttons light) when moved-very nice. The buttons are very small and not raised making it difficult to know if you really pressed the button. If you have large fingers this remote is probably not for you. As another mentioned the charging cradle could be better designed for a more snug fit. The "Help" button is very useful when a device does not respond as it should. I use the Help button more than expected for such a pricey ($179) remote as it tends to forget settings when switching between devices and cable connections.
