It Gets The Job Done
Strengths: This telephony headset does what its supposed to do, and does it well. After setting it up and fiddling with the adjustment sliders a bit, everything sounded great, both to me and on the other end.
Weaknesses: This couldn't cost more than $5 to manufacture - it's cheaply constructed, and the headset feels like it'll break at any moment. A faint buzzing can be heard very occasionally during calls.
Summary: Overall, I guess I'm satisfied with this purchase. I wanted the most inexpensive headset possible for conference calls, and this fit the bill. You get what you pay for, though $55 seemed like a lot for a cheap headset and some glorified switches in a plastic box. Nonetheless, there isn't anything around for less that has at least a decent reputation. When the headset does break (and it will...), I'm hoping I can splice a standard PC headset into the old cable (its not a 3.5mm plug, but rather a phone jack for the headset connector), but if that doesn't work replacements are available for $15-$30. Overall, I expected more from Plantronics.
