Strengths: Very Good for hunting, better than the UHF personal radios(they are all junk in the mountains
Weaknesses: Use name-brand alkalines or NIMH rechargables because batteries don't last more than a day if you talk on high power.
Summary: Best rig for hunting out of all the handhelds. Has useful lock feature(you'll regret not using it because the channel change buttons get pushed very easily during hunting and missing the one *heads up* message can ruin a hunting trip). Has NOAH weather reports (breaks the boredom on treestand). Complete kit including carkit, recharger, NIMH battery pack and alkaline battery pack is very awesome. Already using it on my Touring motorcycle also (cigarette lighter power). Take a lot of batteries on an extended hunting trip. Don't expect it to work inside a car without external antenna. Use radio shack flexible whip and earbuds (2 jacks) with PTT mike for excellent tree stand rig. Get 3 mile range in rugged mountains with 26" flex antenna away from body(VSWR GOES UP close to body). Squelch not too useful for mountains as signal usually very weak.

Strengths: Flexible: Small portable, small in-car.
Weaknesses: Reception
Summary: This is the best handheld CB that I have ever used. The receive distance is not that good, but what handheld is? With an external antenna, the signal improves greatly. This is also a very compact unit, it fits well in the hand.

One small annoyance: the battery pack for the rechargeable batteries does not specify an exact make/model/type of batteries, other than rechargeable Ni-Cads.
