Strengths: It does what it is advetised to do. Can use in car. Retractable cord (though some may not like having a bulky peice of metal in the middle of the extension)
Weaknesses: Too many clips and bricks connected at once in order to make it "universal". List of compatible laptop could be bigger. Can be expensive unless bought on sale.
Summary: My Pros and Cons summations pretty much tell you all you need to know. Be sure to check compatibility list on the manufacturer’s website to make sure your laptop is on the list.

3 Star ReviewBulky and cheap but may work
Strengths: Good value at $20 after rebate at Circuit City.
Weaknesses: Bulky retractable cable cord. Lousy quality control.
Summary: The quality control could be an issue. The first one I picked up at Circuit City was defective. The 2nd one works fine, at least for now. But 1 tip is so tight that it can hardly plug in. If it works for a few years, it's a good value at $20 after 3 rebates.

Strengths: HOME + CAR + AIR
Weaknesses: Doesn't work for Dell Latitude
Summary: Great unit. Great price (Paid only $19.99 after $50 rebate in Circuit City). Works well with Compaq M2010US (although 2010 is not listed on the unit) and one 2-3yr old Toshiba (sorry, don't know the model number).

Strengths: Works with multiple laptops I have. Auto and Airplane plugs is very nice
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: Works great so far. Seems to have plenty of wattage for the few laptops I've tried it on. Nice to have the airplane adapter, works great with that. Other units didn't seem to have this feature.

Strengths: All in one. Can be used in Airport, Flight, Car.
Weaknesses: None, so far.
Summary: I travel a lot during weekends and sometimes my family wanted to watch some movie. But I can't offord to have DVD player in my minivan. I thought of using my laptop but the power was an issue. Now this Kensington universal power supply will help me and my family to enjoy the Car Travel by providing power cord which can be plugged into Car Power.

Both myself and my wife use two laptops, fortunately this universal power supports both the laptops which is an added advantage where I can use single power cord for both the laptops reducing the weight. I would recommend this product.

Weaknesses: none
Summary: Used it for my recent trip works just perfectly with different voltages across countries. Only thing I found is that its somewhat bulky but does its work. Excellent product though.

Strengths: Does everything as in the ads. Works in home, car and airplane.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: For $20 after rebate, this is a pretty good backup power adaptor for my laptop. It also has a car power plug which was claimed working in the air (never tried). The retractable cable cord is a little bit bulky, but I don't complain since it's almost the same size and weight as my original power adaptor.

Make sure your laptop is in the compatibility list before you buy.

Strengths: convenient to have one
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I am glad I purchased this item since now I can place one brick at home the other one at work, thus I don't have to carry it around all the time.

Though a little bit noisy, this thing works well for my IBM T23.

Strengths: Different adapter included in the product package. Can be used a replacement for many laptop power supply.
Weaknesses: connecting adapter easily come loose
Summary: I brought this power supply so that I can use it on my trip during my next travel. I work well with my Toshiba Satellite M35X-M161. A couple of thing I like about this power supply so far:

1. The blue light on the power supply serves as a nightlight in my bedroom.

2. The retractable cord which let the length of the cable.

3. The thin package of the cable wire.

However, the cable adapter can sometimes come loose if you move you laptop around a lot.

Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: 2005-08-16 13:33:33 There isn't really much to say about this product, other than that it worked as advertised. A product like this either works or it doesn't. there isn't much middle ground.

Strengths: Compatible with several laptops. Provides power to laptop from 100-230 V AC, or 11.75 - 16 V DC (Auto or Airplane plugs included)
Weaknesses: Not compatible with several laptops.
Summary: The Kensington unit that I purchased at Circuit City was a solid dark gray color instead of the two tone gray shown here.

It comes with 7 different tips to use with your laptop. I had no trouble using it with my HP/Compaq NC6000 (tip #2) and Toshiba M35X-S114 (tip #3). I only tested with 110 AC and the auto adapter.

The auto adapter seems to be a little bigger than it needs to be and may pop out on its own if it is in a shallow lighter. The auto adapter pulls off to reveal the air adapter.

The rectangular part pictured is the transformer which says that it can provide a maximum of 65 watts on AC and 70 watts on DC. It has a bright blue LED that lights to show that it has power.

The roundish piece holds the a ribbon cable that connects the transformer and the adapter tip. It has a button that retracts the cable when pressed.

The AC (about 18") and DC (about 25") power cords both have little velcro straps to wrap up the cords.

Also included, is a handy travel case to keep everything together.
