Strengths: Price. Features. Output. Removable faceplate.
Weaknesses: Buttons are small. Button lights (backlit) are not very bright. Hard to skip through/find songs when you have lots on one CD (can easily burn over 100-200 songs onto one CD using MP3 or WMA).
Summary: This is my second JVC receiver in the past 5 years, and I only replaced my old one because it could not play WMA (Windows Media) files. This unit is very stylish with black/silver that would go with most car interiors. You can also adjust the bass, treble AND midrange, which makes a huge difference to the output for the better. You can play MP3 or WMA files burnt to CD- I burnt 120 WMA files at 192Kbs onto one CD which is hours of music and they sounded great. FM receiver is about average and picks up strong signals with good output. Overall a great buy and I would highly recommend.

Strengths: Nice look, rich sound, low price, features, audio input on the front panel (you can connect your iPod or other external player).
Weaknesses: Problem with shuffle playing.
Summary: I choose this guy among other receivers below $100 because of its stylish look. I like it in general but I found a bug with shuffle playing. If you enable “disk random” or “folder random” option it plays songs randomly for some time but then unexpectedly starts playing them in order. If engine is restarted you will see the bug 100%, however sometimes it appears without that. Display still indicates RND is on. You can press [>>] button and the guy will come back to random playing.
