Strengths: price, quality, sound, looks
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I purchased this sub for < 175 (new - not open box) at CC. I had been looking for a sub for my secondary HT and was waiting for the Velodyne 10 inch to go on sale. I was waiting for a long time and saw this 12 inch for a little more than I was willing to pay for the 10 inch. I already had a high end 12 inch Velodyne for my main HT system for about 15 years and I love it. No problems ever, and great smooth lows, so I wanted to stick with the brand. When I got this one home, I just had to compare them side-by-side and they are comparable for all practical purposes. I did need to turn up the volume on this rear ported sub a bit more to get the same punch as my original front ported, but it still was only at about 60% volume and this is matching it up to a 7.1 Sony ES system pumping 150 watts into the 7 other speakers. If you can find this for $250 OR LOWER, I would certainly go for it!
FYI: If you're trying to win the "Most Remotes Contest" this sub not have one - I have way TOO many anyway, and I don't really care about one for a sub - I just set it and forget it.
