Strengths: Small & strong, very portable
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I have a Sony DCR-HC26 camcorder and carry it around in a medium-sized soft-sided bag so I can include all the accesssories, which works fine for me. However, if I'm just taking my camcorder out for an afternoon or specific event, I put it in this semi-hard case and don't have to worry about it getting damaged or dropping the case. This case can be had for DIRT cheap so it is a no brainer, as long as you're sure it will fit your camcorder.

Strengths: Fits designated camcorder snugly, and has a battery compartment. Very reasonable price. Tougher than a simple soft-side case.
Weaknesses: Not the most stylish case, but perhaps a reasonable tradeoff for its utility.
Summary: I suppose the appearance of the case is a matter of opinion, but I wasn't too impressed with how it looks. However, the case is excellent for what it was designed to do--carry the designated camcorder models in a compact fashion while still protecting it adequately. The case itself is more than a soft-sided case--it's a little more rigid, and the camcorder could probably take a little tumble without being affected.
For a Sony-branded product, the price of this case was very reasonable.

Strengths: Elegant looking; Good protection;

Summary: It's a silver elegant cam case. Although it looks kind of odd when the battery bag is attached, the overall looking is very stylish. The straps are very comfortable and the well padded material offers good protection. It's a compact and light-weight case which is very convenient for daily trip if you don't want to carry a big bag. And I got it from Amazon for only $6 plus shipping, what a deal! Highly recommended!

Strengths: Stiff soft case

Summary: This case fits my dvd-405 reasonably well, even though it wasn't designed for it (a little snug). The case is good because it is made of some sort of shock absorbing gel on the outside and has a soft fabric interior. It has double zippers (one on either side attached by single pull). It also opens like a clam shell without folding all the way open thanks to two pieces of elastic material holding the two side together. This allows one to remove the camera without dropping the camera! The strap is good quality and the case comes with an extra battery holder. Overall I think this is a great case for the $5.99 I paid for it on Amazon. I would probably pay up to $15.99 for it!

Summary: This case fits camcorder very nicely. It can be put into a pack so you don't have to use a dedicated case for the camcorder. The battery case is nice and light but it would have been nice if it had a way to attach to the case other than using the shoulder strap. The little attach strap is not useful for me so I detached it from the o-rings. The sides of the case is held by internal straps so the camcorder doesn't fall out accidentally when you unzip it. The case if big enought so that it can also be used for a small gps and digital camera.

Strengths: Quality construction, durable materials, large size to accommodate a wide range of electronic items, attractive looks, lightweight
Weaknesses: Could use a rubberized shoulder patch on the shoulder strap
Summary: I purchased this on sale, and it is a very versatile, useful electronic gadget bag for those who travel with personal electronics. I use it to carry my iPod and my Nintendo DS, and they fit perfectly inside the velvet-padded compartment along with headphones and extra game cartridges. The bag is originally designed for the Sony DVD Handycam, but serves as a crush-proof travel case for other electronic items as well. The lightweight design and detachable shoulder strap allows it to be used either on its own or placed into a larger travel bag. I hope to get a lot of use out of this bag this summer during my travels!

Sony Gray/Silver HandyCam bag
Strengths: Fits vey well
Weaknesses: no
Summary: I really could not expect more from this purchase. It is not great, but IT IS GOOD. The color is kind of grayish silver and it feels very smooth. It fits perfectly well for my camcorder with the semi-soft and semi-hard case. Unless under strong intentional impact, it really provides sufficient protection.

Summary: It works for some the followinf Sony models: DCR-DVD201, 203, 105, 205 & 305 Camcorders. It is not of great looking, but it is efficient and useful. To summarize, it is worth of the money I paid $5.99.

Summary: This case is extremely good quality for the MSRP of $49.99 and at $5.99 (the price I paid) it was a steal. It is listed as "Semi-Soft" but that mostly refers to the outer material used, the case itself is very study.
If you have one of the compatible cameras look no further as you will not find any case better. If you don't have one of the compatible cameras it is still a great case if you have something similar in size that will fit.

Strengths: Does a great job protecting and is also easy to carry around. Looks elegant with the silver casing.

Summary: The handycam fits perfectly into the case. Great fit and protection. It's also easy to carry around in it's compact size. Protects camera from getting scratched. Recommend buying to protect camera.
