Strengths: Fairly easy to set up. Can set it to only Super G (108 Mbps) for faster network speeds. Good security options.
Weaknesses: None so far. Have had no problems with it yet.
Summary: All-in-all this is a pretty good product. Having the wireless router and pcmcia card in one package made it much quicker and easier to set everything up and get online. Very good security options. I was able to set the router and the card to use 152 bit WPA-PSK instead of WEP for added security. I would recommend this package for beginners who want to get started in wireless networking.

Strengths: Great signal strength, fast speed
Weaknesses: expensive, there is a problem with MSN audio conversation
Summary: This routher has all its functions as it claims and reaches 108Mbps with the bundled card or WG311T PCI card. However, there has been always a problem though I have upgraded the firmwares several times within the 7 months I have it, which is that it blocks the audio conversation of MSN messenger. This is very annoying since I need to talk to my family and girl friend in long distance. I have tried to turn off the firewall or tried to use DMZ mode but they don't work. I called the customer service but they are of no help on this issue. This is why I only give it 3 out of 5.

Strengths: It has strong signal and was easy to set up. We got it and set it up that night in about 20 minutes. Soon after we had our home computers networked.
Weaknesses: Without a print server it makes it a little more difficult to share the printer.
Summary: It is small and un-obtrusive and looks good. It works great and was really easy to install. We bought one additional card and set up our moe network for about a hundred bucks.

Strengths: High speed; easy to set up
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I've only had it for just a month. I'm very satisfied so far. The set up is really easy. It only took me about 10 minutes to get online with this kit. The menus for changing the settings are well designed, and it's easy to add additional security features to the network. The speed for file transfer over the wireless network is fairly good.

Strengths: Easy to set up, configure. Very fast.
Weaknesses: WPA does not work out of the box. Intermittent stutters.
Summary: 2005-02-02 19:23:48 The kit includes the WGT624 108 Mbps router and the WG511T notebook adapter, plus drivers for the adapter and a Cat 5 cable.
Setup:
The router set up was easy. The firmware menu is very well organized, and updating to the latest firmware version was a one click process.
The adapter was also easy to install, but the drivers are out of date. I never expect the absolute latest drivers to be boxed with a product, but these drivers were dated 7/03 and had no WPA settings. The boxed drivers work OK with WEP, but you need to download the latest versions if you want to use WPA-PSK. The router was capable of WPA-PSK out of the box.
Performance:
Performance is fine for just connecting with the Net or moving data. But if you want to listen to music over the network, despite the speed, there are intermittent stutters in the signal that make it very frustrating. I listen to Rhapsody over the net, but the music pauses now and then, whenever the router has one of its fits. Same for playing music from one PC to another. I have SageTV client that allows me to watch TV over the home network, but it's unwatchable because of this issue.
Support:
There's 24 hour support by phone, and I didn't have to wait too long. I even got someone who spoke passable English. But he was pretty clueless and, other than telling me to turn off my security (which didn't help) and trying to blame my PC, he was out of ideas relatively quickly.
Summary:
Given the rebates that are available on this kit ($35 from Amazon and others), it's very cheap. If you're not looking to do anything other than surf the net and maybe move data files, it should be fine. I replaced mine with a Linksys, which is a little slower, but doesn't stutter.

Strengths: Good value. Cheap solution for Super G wireless 108mb.
Weaknesses: very seldom dropping.
Summary: Overall it's a great value of product. you could equip up your laptop with the fastest 108MB wireless network.
I recommend this product. It only dropped me once in the past 2 months. Other than that, it's fast and stable.

Strengths: Strong and steady signal. My card detects and operates with the network that is 80 yards away!
Weaknesses: You have to register your product first in order to receive phone helpdesk assistance. This help is only available for 90 days, after that time you have to pay if you need any assistance.
Summary: I am using this set for over 3 weeks now.
I had no problems with router installation.
I have recommended this product to my friend.
The internet provider SbC did not tell me that my modem had to be put into the bridge mode in order to have the router working properly. I did not know that myself so I had a difficulty with my installation. When I called SBc helpdesk for the first time they did not tell me what the problem was. Then I called NETGEAR helpdesk and I was explained what was the issue. I had to call SBc again and clearly request the help with switching the modem to the bridge mode.
After that I had no problem with installation.

Strengths: Strong signal. MUCH faster than 802.11b. Easy setup. Good price on bundle with Netgear rebates.
Weaknesses: Windows XP SP2 incompatibility without update of driver. Seems to lose sync with cable modem and internet access occasionally (1-2 times per week running 24/7).
Summary: Easy to install and clean simple menus. Allows setup of one DMZ IP address. Wireless cards work very well. However, the cards did not want to work initially. I recommend that one uninstall and reboot if you have ANY previously installed wireless. And, be prepared to download newer drivers. The ones that came with the card did not like one of my laptops running Windows XP SP2.
I am running with two wired computers and 2 wireless laptops. I have it configured with max encription and one PC in DMZ (running emule plus). However, I did notice unlike my last 802.11b router from Siemens that the IP can be lost on the DMZ system after a reboot (in other words another PC may renew the IP configured for the DMZ). No big deal, but need to keep track of if you rely on a specific IP.
Wireless is configured for 108MB only, so I have not tested 802.11b or know how it works in a mixed environment.
Also as a tip, if you close the lid on a laptop and let it hybernate, it may take a minute or two for the system to resync up with the wireless when it wakes-up.
The only issue I have is that it seems to lose sync with the cable modem occasionally. Simply connecting to the router and renewing the IP on the cable modem seems to fix the problem, so I cannot say if it is the modem or the router's ability to talk to the modem (Linksys).
Keep an eye out for rebates as I saved substantially on this bundle vs. other 108mb setups.

Strengths: 108 Mbps, who can say more? It was about time they got to the double bandwidth and this thing flies.
Weaknesses: Only problem is that you have to purchase the 108Mbps compatible cards, but hey, who doesn't love netgear?
Summary: Great price, great combo. YOu get 108Mbps speed, faster than an actual WIRED connection! Plus the range is greater on these versus 802.11g and b!
