Strengths: large and fast
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I'm using this card in an Olympus C-5060 camera which has the latest firmware revision (v756-81). I tested the write time it took the card to write a 2592x1944 RAW image with a few other cards I have and it is the fastest of the bunch as follows:

Lexar 1GB CF w WA => 8.17 sec

SanDisk 1GB CF Ultra II => 8.25 sec

IBM 1GB CF Microdrive => 9.15 sec

Canon 16MB CF => 21.3 sec

Olympus 32MB xD => 11.46 sec

In my Olympus C-5060 camera this card is estimated to hold the following number of pictures depending on the used resolution.

RAW => 133 pictures

SHQ => 273 pictures

HQ => 801 pictures

I would recommend this card because it is very fast, stores a lot of pictures, and carries a lifetime warranty.

Strengths: * Great storage capabilities. * Slightly faster right capabilities. (Not that much of noticeable difference, tho.) * Hardly ever need to replace card!!
Weaknesses: None yet.
Summary: 2004-10-12 15:56:02 This 1G card is amazing! I paid $104 - $30 rebate = $74, but I've already seen it for $20 less on PriceGrabber ...

You literally will never need any other card!! Stores about 800 hi-res pics (and I'm guesstimating probably about 2500 lo-res?!), but I've yet take that many pics. It will be great for the cameras that take MPEGS that have no time limitations, but my S400 only takes 3 mins. clips at a time! So, in terms of functionality, this compact flash card will do everything you'll need it to do and more and you won't have to delete pics for a very, VERY long time! ... Happy Picture Taking!! ... =)

Strengths: Made in USA with lifetime warranty. Fast transfer speed.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Comparing this 40X card with the Lexar 12X card I have been using, I cannot detect a significant speed difference in my 8MP Nikon camera. Most digital cameras other than the professional models still do not take full advantage of the high speed cards. However, it is certainly faster when it comes to downloading the pictures to my computer using a card reader. Considering the great low price and lifetime warranty, this Lexar 40X card is a great buy.

Strengths: size, speed
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I love it. It's just as fast as my 256mb sandisk ultra 2, but 4 times bigger. On my canon s50, that's 400+ pictures! I love never having to worry about running out of shots. Used it on my Vegas trip, no problems.

Strengths: This CF is fast if you are using with camera that can transfer data 6MB/sec. I'm satisfied with it as I got it only $60 after rebate.
Weaknesses: If you have camera that old or does not have a high speed transfer rate. It might be useless in the term of 40X speed
Summary: I have been using Lexar since 2000 and I'm very satisfied with the product. It's good quality and so far, I have had no problem using it. This time I bought 40X 1GB because I want to use it for my friend's wedding and this give me about 1000 pictures if I'm using UXGA mode on my camera Nikon 995. This is more than I really want.

Strengths: Fantastic Storage! It's even cheaper now!
Weaknesses: N/A
Summary: This CF card is great! My husband and I just came back from a week long vacation to the Dominican Republic and we took 600+ on the Medium2 format plus like 15 3 mins. video clips on our S400 and we still had enough space for 200 pics! I think every avid digital camera photog should upgrade to 1G !!! Happy Holidays!!!

Strengths: High Capacity, faster speed
Weaknesses: N/A
Summary: Just used it for a week in my old Cannon Elph 2.0 mpixel camera. For most casual users 1gb is more than enough - you'll never need to carry another card again, even on a week long vacation, unless you used for taking video clips. My old Elph can take 10 second of video clips only so it's not a concern.

Overall, very please with the product, and the price.

Strengths: super fast & huge capacity
Weaknesses: I've not found yet
Summary: after buying this product, you will get a perfect Compact Flash memory card with a plastic carrying case!! This card can make me working faster with a huge capacity. I'm so impressed!

Until now, I've not found yet the weaknesses of this card. Hopefully, there is no anything wrong :P

If you are finding a CF memory card which is fast and a lots of space ... this is the right one!!!

Strengths: Fast, spacious.
Weaknesses: May not be recognized by older devices, simply due to its vast size (unimaginable a few years ago).
Summary: The card can both read and write at over 3MB/sec, at least. I don't know whether that is the card's limit--it is possible that that figure is simply the limit of my USB 2.0 card reader when accessing CompactFlash. (I have never seen the reader go faster on CF cards.) The card reader can go as high as 6MB/sec when accessing Secure Digital. My speed measure is simply to copy a single 162MB file to the card, then back to the desktop. This Lexar card is *supposed* to go as fast as 6MB/sec, but I don't know how to positively confirm or deny that.

This Lexar 1GB card works perfectly in my Audiovox Maestro, which runs the Pocket PC 2002 operating system. The card appears *not* to be recognized by my Medion 4-megapixel camera, which is a couple of years old. It is possible but unlikely that the camera was simply taking a very long time to compute the space available, and I took this long delay to be a lockup. More likely, the camera's firmware simply wasn't written to handle such a large card, and was never advertised to do so. The Medion camera does correctly handle a 512MB card.

This Lexar 1GB card can still be correctly and fully formatted with the FAT16 filesystem, which all devices understand. Cards larger than 2GB must instead be formatted with FAT32, which most devices do *not* yet understand.

Strengths: Very fast. Lifetime warranty. Image Rescue 2.0 software that comes with it is excellent and lets you test and defrag flash media. Jumpshot cable lets you hook card to any USB port without reader.
Weaknesses: Dimensions of card seem a little big, have to pry it out of card slots as it's too tight.
Summary: This is a very fast card, especially in my Konica-Minolta A2. It allows me to record full speed full res videos of any length. Image Rescue software that came with it is also the latest version (a welcome surprise) and lets you test, defrag, and recover data off cards and update the firmware on the card. The JumpShot cable lets you attach the card to any USB port and read it as this brand of card comes with it's own USB on the card, a unique feature. I also like the lifetime warranty.

Strengths: Fast and reliable
Weaknesses: A little expensive, but absolutely worth the money
Summary: 2004-10-24 07:31:53 This is a perfect card for anyone with a Digital SLR, or high mega pixel camera. It is rated at 40X, which corresponds to 6 MB/sec transfer speeds. I found this card to be one of the fastest CF cards I have used - about as fast as my Sandisk Ultra II.

One point - you will absolutely not notice the speed of this card if you have a consumer level, 2 - 5 megapixel camera. A five megapixel JPEG image is about 2.5 MB for example - a card with 6 MB/sec write speeds isn't needed. If, however, you have a digital SLR, or a camera with an uncompressed image format (RAW, TIFF, etc), get this card.

Strengths: Speed, reliability, cost.
Weaknesses: None, really
Summary: On a 5 Megapixel camera, this memory card gives you over 400 pictures at high quality. Performance on my Olympus C-5060 is excellent, and I tend to believe the 40x speed rating (about 6MB/s), though I haven't directly tested it.

At $130 including shipping, and with a $30 Lexar rebate, this is a real bargain.
