Strengths: Lots of features for the price. Easy to setup and use.
Weaknesses: I have not found any yet.
Summary: The Kenwood VR-8070, coupled with a Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker system, makes for an awesome home theater system. The receiver has lots of audio and video inputs for lots of components. I highly recommend this receiver. For the price, it can't be beat.

Strengths: Great Price, Countless Options, Fantastic Sound, Slick display. For a THX 7.1 reciever under 400 dollars it cant be beat
Weaknesses: The remote is silver where as the unit is black as well as hard to use.
Summary: If you are considering a high end unit and you are ready to spend 700-1000 dollars think twice. Get this for 400 and invest in something else.

Strengths: Sound is excellent. Just an excellent value for the price! Very glad I purchased this one.
Weaknesses: I wish the remote control were backlit and the buttons are a bit small, but otherwise it is easy to use.
Summary: Overall, this Kenwood is an excellent receiver especially for the price. I'd highly recommend it, we are very happy with this purchase. The remote control's buttons are a bit small and it would be nice if it were backlit, but otherwise, the remote control is fairly easy to use.

Strengths: Component Video Switching, Very high power outputs
Weaknesses: Bland Remote, For some reason switches DSP settings on each power off
Summary: Overall, this is a very good receiver. It has component video switching for non-component video peripherals. You can tell by the weight that it is very heavy duty and provides ample power. For the price, it is the most budget conscious THX Select receiver that I could find. The remote left a lot to be desired, too small of buttons and a very bland design.
