Strengths: Price (I got it for $20 after $30 mail-in rebate).Free shipping. Nice design
Weaknesses: Phone directory does not allow you to be used together with memory buttons.
Summary: I was looking to get a good phone for a while. My old cordless phone started to produce background noise, plus I need an answering machine (currently I am at the job market). First I was thinking to go with corded phone due to better sound quality, but there is no real reduction in sound quality, and often cordless phones can have even lower price.
As for function I care about answering machine, memory buttons, and phone locator.
Memory are extremely conveinient for prepaid cards. That is dialing access number and pin makes it as convenient as direct dialing.
Phone directory does not allow you to be activated when memory buttons were in use. That is, when I dialed prepaid card access number and pin from memory, I am not allowed to use phone directory. It is extremely inconvinient. But it is not a big deal.
Nice features: you can unplug the phone, but you phone directory, and messages will be stored in memory. Most of cheap cordless phones loose all the information after power outage.
LCD display on the handle allows you to see time you talked, name of person etc. That is a cool feature.
AT&T makes high quality phones (no background noise).
Reasons to buy. Good price (answering machine itself costs $20). Cordless phones are great when new, eventually you want to change them. (battery dies, background noise appears, or technology is better).
Go for this one.
