Strengths: Takes great pictures, very easy to operate, software is very staight forward and easy to use, very easy to transfer pictures to computer
Weaknesses: wish that the lense cap cover was built into the camera, wish there were more options in image file formats.
Summary: Upgraded to this camera from my Canon ZR25 and it was a huge leap in the quality of pictures. Great for taking point and shoot pictures or even more technical photos.

Strengths: Price, 6.1 MP, manual settings, video w/ sound, unlimited video length, ease of use, 22 scene modes, good ratings from consumer testing group & camera pros, ability to add zoom/wide angle lens
Weaknesses: Proprietary battery, no independent on-off switch, only 3x optical zoom.
Summary: I did a lot of research before picking this camera, and so far I am very pleased. This camera is significantly less expensive than some other cameras with 6.1 MP, but as far as I have found, it doesn't skimp on quality or features.

As I mentioned, this camera was rated very well by a well-known consumer testing group which I won't name, and technical internet reviews from online digital camera sellers were good. Of course you can find better cameras in this MP range, but when you factor in the price, I don't believe that the more expensive cameras are worth the increased price, unless you have your heart set on more optical zoom, etc. You just get more bells and whistles that most people don't use anyway.

For those who don't know anything about photography, this offers an easy-to-use automatic mode as well as 22 scene presets for a little bit more control. For those into photography, there are manual controls over aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

The camera takes the picture quite quickly after the button is pushed (.3 seconds, I have read), and the time between pictures is good too.

The screen is large, bright and easy to see.

One problem I have noticed is that in movie mode, shafts of light shining into the camera lens show up as a line across the entire screen. This is probably not unique to this camera or this brand, but none-the-less is somewhat annoying.

Battery life is supposed to be good, but I would recommend buying a backup, which will cost you in the neighborhood of $30. Better safe than sorry.

I wish there were an independent on-off switch. As is, you have to rotate the dial to the off position. I would prefer being able to turn it off while in video mode (for example) and then back on in the same mode when needed rather than rotating the dial back and forth. I just worry that someday the dial might present a problem.

The picture quality is quite crisp, and the colors are very vibrant. You can also choose to shoot in B&W or sepia tones, as well as high-color mode, which enhances, but does not completely skew the color tones.

When the flash is used inside, the picture tends to look like it's been taken at night, even if it's during the day, at least in relation to the darkness of items in the background.

Anyway, all-in-all, it's a great camera, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good, high MP camera but who isn't interesting in breaking the bank.

Strengths: Inexpensive for a 6mp digital camera. Easy to use. Huge LCD Screen. Quality lens. Picture quality is good.
Weaknesses: Can not use regular AA size batteries. The size is on bulk and heavy side. No automatic lens cap cover.
Summary: I bought this to replace my broken Canon A60 which I like it very much after using it for months. This is my first Kodak digital camera and definitely would not be my last one. A very good point and shoot camera with some SLR features. 6.2 MP also helps when I do photo editing/cropping. Make sure you get at least 512MB of SD card.

Strengths: Great Camera at a great price!
Weaknesses: Lot of features = lot of buttons!
Summary: This is a great little camera. I would say it is perfect for those out there who want a high quality camera to take snap shots. Probably not advanced enough for those "real" photographers, yet more than the average consumer might want/need. I got mine at a great price and it works great for me!!

Strengths: This camera takes very good pictures. It uses SD cards which are inexpensive and store a ton of pictures (I have a 1GB card which has over 400 pictures and still room to spare).
Weaknesses: It takes 3-4 seconds between pictures to save them to memory. I wish this was a little shorter.
Summary: Overall, this camera really is a good bargain for the money. We intended it to be used for our family vacation (7 days long) and were worried about having enough storage media for all the pictures. We had plenty of space and all the still pictures are excellent.

It took a little while to figure out the menus and find the correct settings for some pictures, but overall well worth it.

One of my favorite features is the large viewing screen. Much better than my (5 year old) other camera. This will gladly replace that dinosaur.

Strengths: The DX7630 DIGITAL CAMERA is very good homw camera!! Easy use, very small and beautifull. I like it very much!!
Weaknesses: I think it's color is not control well in night.
Summary: I have some sujections for the production as below:

1) The memory is smaller (32MB). 64MB should be fine.

2) Could you tell cosumers about the batterie using time once in general.

3) The color auto control need to improve further, expecilly, in night.

Strengths: Good quality picture, large screen!
Weaknesses: minor problems.
Summary: 2005-12-13 18:22:18 This is my most advanced camera. 6.0MP, and 2.2" LCD make it a very nice camera. Pix quality is very good, both in daytime and night time. Some minor problems such as the lens cover is not automatic.

Strengths: Ease of use. Nice big LCD that protected from cracking. Rechargeable Li-ion battery included with charger. Selectable megapixel option (2MP-6MP).
Weaknesses: Bulkier than most other cameras out there (i.e. Sony and Canon). Very small navigation button.
Summary: I've used many cameras before this and must say that this is by far the easiest to use. For anyone who is worried that a digital camera might be too technical, this is your answer. The menus are clear and a breeze to navigate. As I said before, this camera is a considerable size bigger than its competition but its not really that noticable and some may even prefer it bigger. As far as the internal memory goes, you can count on buying an additional memory card, since at 6 MP a shot, your 32MB internal memory will go fast. Overall I'd highly recommend this camera to anyone who is still on the fence about going digital, fearing it might be to complicated.

Strengths: Flash, Pic modes, shutter lag, extra lenses, ease of use It does have a manual mode!
Weaknesses: does not use AA as my 4530. No flash shoe or diopter (for eyeglass wearers) At least 4x optical would be better. Docks & printers will not work w/other Kodak models No pic bridge
Summary: 2005-07-21 14:35:33 First, you have to get used to pushing down the small button to turn the mode dial.

You can save your settings.

It was a CR Best Buy, but this month Fuji's camera was rated higher, but the pic quality on this camera according to their review is better (and it has more modes.) I have found that Kodak has great flashes.

I registered on-line & Kodak gave me an additional month of warranty.I joined their pro club and receive free film, paper, etc.

Heard of problems with battery/card compartment breaking, but no problems here. The night scene works great.

Check out different stores, as some are including the dock with the camera for $299. I love the fact that one can get lenses for it. I would have liked the stabilizer, but that feature is hard to find, and not so necessary except in cameras w/longer zooms. I am buying another one for my mom.

Kodak's printers are proprietary (can't use it with my other digital cameras), nice if a printer was included. My 4530 dock will not work with this camera. Come on Kodak, make some adapters!

It would be a five if it had a diopter, a flash hot shoe, and a longer zoom. I'd like to see a kit that had the lenses and at least a docking station.

Check around for a charger that will work at home & in your car for their rechargeable battery ($29.99 I think). While one is in the camera, the other is plugged into the lighter. I have the car/home charger for this battery & the AA/AAA.

There is a camera kit available ($19.99) with a AA battery charger (use w/my 4530), paper, lense cleaner, mini-tripod, etc. In closing, it takes great pictures, the software does not mess up my pc, and is easy to use, and Kodak CS has been great!
