Strengths: Large capacity, quiet, effortless shredding, handles several thicknesses of paper easily.

Weaknesses: Large, fairly heavy unit.

Summary: This machine does the job very quickly, quietly, and effortlessly. I purchased this for home use and soon realized that it's performance is superior to the shredder used in my office of 20 plus people.

The shredded particles are very small and the catch basin quite large, reducing the need for frequent emptying.

Although the unit is fairly heavy, it rolls easily on carpet as well as other flooring.

I appreciate the safety feature, but realize that one reviewer found that it was not sensitive to very small hands. The safety feature seems to work very well for adult hands, but I have decided to keep the machine unplugged when small children are present.

Good Idea on safety, but need adjustment

Strengths: Shreds anything. Large capacity bin.

Weaknesses: The safety feature does not always work. It's a bit loud.

Summary: Shreds anything easily. Has no problems with the occasional paper clip or staple. Shreds to curled confetti pieces, which allows for lots of shredding before you have to empty it. The shredder is louder than the last one I had, but it was a strip shredder. I'm guessing the confetti ones are louder. The only serious flaw is that the safety feature does not work for small children. I purchased this shredder to replace my current home office shredder because of the safety feature mentioned. If I touch the edge around the opening, the shredder stops immediately. If my 4 year old daughter, that likes to help dad in the office, touches the edge, it keeps going. I'm guessing the problem is that she only weighs 50 pounds. If I am touching her, and she touches the edge, the machine stops as it should. If you're buying this for your small children's safety, look elsewhere. I keep it unplugged unless I'm using it, just like the old shredder.
