Strengths: aux input to hook up your portable audio.
Weaknesses: volume knob, which is in the same time equalizer knob, is too easy to switch to equalizer mode by mistake and to mess up, when just wanted to turn the volume up or down.
Summary: very nice player with just basic functions. i bought it just to be able to listen my mp3 player in the car, because this stereo has aux input. the only problem with it is its volume knob, which by pressing on it becomes equalizer. and if you just want to turn the volume up or down, and by accident press on this knob instead of turning, you'll switch to eq mode, and to get back to vol control you need to press it around 5 times more (to get through all eq settings)..

other wise, it's a very nice product, if you just want to listen to cd, radio or to hook up your mp3 player.

2 Star ReviewKenwood KDC 135
Strengths: Sound Quality
Weaknesses: Display and Interface
Summary: This Kenwood unit sounds nice, but the display leaves a lot to be desired. First, it is very small and hard to read. Second, it tries to convey too much info at once making everything seem crowded. The interface, a joystick style button on the right, feels flimsy and cheap. You barely touch it and it feels like it will break. What ever happened to a Cd/Radio with two ACTUAL DIALS. I guess I shouldn't expect much for $70.00.

Strengths: Detachable face, front aux input, stylish looks, plays cds, high power output, 1 set of preouts, build-in eq, audio level adjust for input. Easy to install.
Weaknesses: Does not play mp3 or wma. Tuner cannot tune 87.7. Unit does not include case for faceplate.
Summary: Installed this Kenwood into my 1996 Toyota Corolla easily using the original brackets that were on the factory unit. Audio quality of the tuner is excellent. The front aux input is a bonus, allowing you to connect any mp3 or ipod music player with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. Comes with 1 set of preout. Face detaches but would have been nice if they included a carrying case for it. Overall, it was a great buy for the price and compares well with other entry level head unit cd players.

Strengths: Price
Weaknesses: Very easy to change to audio settings when trying to change volume. Interface not intuitive
Summary: Good entry level CD player for a reasonable price. Sound is good and the radio looks good in the dash. User interface is ok once you get used to it but is not intuitive for a first time user. It is too easy to accidentally select and change the equalizer settings when trying to adjust volume.

Strengths: Sounds really nice, looks sweet. and has alot of options
Weaknesses: the only thing i can really say thats bad is that its difficult to navigate the menus on the deck
Summary: i would highly recommend this deck. you cant go wrong with it. its the best bang for the buck I've ever purchased. this can go pretty much with any system. Its a deck that can please almost anyone no matter what kind of music you listen to.

Strengths: versatility with mp3 capability, and great radio signal reception.
Weaknesses: sound mixer hard to operate and tune to desired sound. no faceplate case...
Summary: very good entry level in dash cd player w/ auxilary jack. i use it with only two front speakers and the sound quality is lower than hoped(i think if i installed rear speakers the sound would be much better). cd player guide doesn't say anything about being able to play mp3 cds...i guess it's because it has an auxilary jack for mp3 players.
