Strengths: Purchased this jan 07, got this for 607 for this system and a wireless mouse at best buy. Fantastic price for the system, it seems to run faster than my 2ghz desktop, so im impressed.
Weaknesses: Big, bulky, probably because of the size of the screen, HOWEVER the image is SHARP on on the laptop, not what I expected from a laptop. I would prefer this over my flatpanel monitor on my desktop comp
Summary: I will definately be buying from Compaq/HP again, I was looking for a middle of the road, yet still not crappy laptop, and I found it. Granted its not top of the line, but with 128mb video memory and upgradable 512mb ram, and a zippy 1.7ghz processor, its a fantastic deal.

100gigs is also great for a laptop. At the time of buying this Jan 07, most laptops come with 80 gigs or less, and with 10 to 20 of that being dedicated to the "system recovery" it can be a bummer. so 100 gigs helped keep the hard drive from seeming small.

The battery drains a little fast, however you can get a longer charged battery if needed, and use the original one as a backup.

Strengths: 1.73GHz Mobile celeron 430, 512 MB,100GB Hard drive, windows media center, GOOD SPEAKERS LOCATED WERE YOU CAN HEAR THEM!(unlike dell laptops)
Weaknesses: Had a little problum with built in wireless card. Nasty glare on the screen if by light.
Summary: I just got this notebook computer two days ago(Dec 26) and so far for its price (around $600 out the door) it has made me very happy. I have a game called war rock i like to play on my P4 3.0GHz desktop. I did not think this game would run on this computer until i tried it, and actually i seem to think it ran a little faster on the notebook.(seemed this way to me, but it doesn't make sense.)Overall the price i paid for it it was well worth it.
