Strengths: Very large and clear; thin bezel in neutral color; good OSD controls; DVI-D and VGA is a plus; comes complete with every required cable
Weaknesses: Some minor ghosting (not too offensive); slightly less-than-average viewing angle
Summary: For the average price of this monitor, it's definitely a very good value. Colors look very vivid and clear, and the brightness is high enough that you'll probably have to turn it down from the default. Unlike some other monitors, the bezel on this Sceptre is very small and neutral, so it doesn't distract your vision.
I've noticed some slight ghosting in normal home office use, but it's nothing serious, and I've definitely seen worse, even in monitors that are much more expensive. The size of a 19" LCD is just impressive, and once you see how much screen space there is, you'll probably not want to go back. DVI support along with standard VGA is always a plus, and I had no problem using the DVI connection to my computer.
The OSD is very descriptive and lets you quickly access the functions. The viewing angle is slightly lower than standard, and colors get a bit washed out when viewing the monitor from the sides. However, it's not severe enough that the screen can't be read, and I haven't had anyone complain about it while looking at it from the side.
Overall, the Sceptre is a great value for a 19" LCD. It looks great and has a multitude of features that rival monitors with a higher price tag.
