Strengths: easy, it works
Weaknesses: low-tech replacement indicator
Summary: These filters make my PUR water filter pitcher happy. Three 2-stage filters are contained in the relatively small box. Each filter is individually wrapped for freshness (I guess). Also included are 3 stickers to be stuck to the side of your water pitcher. Each sticker includes a circular monthly calendar and a small green-to-red sticker. This smaller sticker is the low-tech replacement indicator. Place it on the larger sticker over a few months, starting with the current month. When the right-most month arrives - time to change the filter! ...or just change it when you can "taste" the difference, if possible.
I've used these filters for months now and won't go back to normal tap water. Here outside Philly our water is pretty bad - these filters do the trick.

Strengths: It works, easy to use
Weaknesses: None found
Summary: These filters work with my PUR water filter pitcher.
This is my first pitcher so I don't really have anything to compare with. Except with some bad reviews on more expensive Brita.
Water seems to taste better (may that is perception because our tap water is not too bad)
But buildup on the inside of the kettle seems to be less then before ( we bought new kettle almost at the same time as filters).

Strengths: works as advertised, easy to install
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I'm an avid user of PUR filters. I try to purchase the 3 packs when they're on sale - so far they've never let me down. Water tastes better with the filter. Installation is easy; just twist the old one off, dunk the new one for 10 minutes then twist it on and fill 'er up. Short and sweet; minus the bad stuff.

Strengths: better tasting water, better filter performance, good price if you know where to buy
Weaknesses: lacks replacement indicator of the CRF-950L
Summary: As far as I can tell, PUR tastes better than Brita. We started with the faucet mount filter, when that leaked after a year, switched to a Brita pitcher. Water filtered in Brita did not taste as good as PUR, simply put. I decided to research and found literature putting PUR as a better filter overall. I switched to the PUR DS-1800Z, bought these filters from Amazon and for the last 2 years have been much happier. I never was able to buy the CRF-950L (one with the replacement indicator knob) that other reviewers have been talking about. Should Amazon decided to bring that back, it would be the best bang for the buck. Imagine changing the filter only when you really need to, instead of relying on monthly reminder stickers.

Strengths: Great Tasting, Good Promotional Pricing, Long Usage
Weaknesses: Gone Are The Days of the Good Old Orange Replacement Indicator
Summary: Buying these normal price would be a bit on the steep side. However, occasionally Amazon do have good promotional sale on these and they are indeed quite affordable. The water tasted much better using these filters than your normal tab water. As a previous user had mentioned, gone are the good old days of the orange replacement indicator. Now it's just a cheapie sticker that tell you you'll need to replace it in two months. I usually hold it longer (4 months max) and the water still tastes fine. Overal, if purchased through promotional sale, then it's very much worth the money.

Strengths: * taste (there isn't any)
Weaknesses: * price
Summary: We moved over to pur after we the water from our brita started tasting funny. No, it's not cause our filter was too old. We moved to a new neighborhood and the water quality wasn't as good as before. After switching to the PUR filters, the water no longer had a funny taste. It tasted like water - which shouldn't have taste. The filter doesn't run as fast as a brita, but it's not really an issue for us - we never feel like we're waiting for water to finish filtering. Overall, we've been very happy with the PUR, though we wish it wasn't so expensive.

Strengths: Clean water, no taste, crystal clean
Weaknesses: up to 40 gallon only
Summary: This filter just recently purchased and used for my daily water filter. The water came up with a crystal clean and no any kind of taste. This filter are a lot better than the tap filter. This filter cost cheaper than the tap filter. However, it only can be used up to 40 gallon. It usually change every 4 months. So for 3 pack, it can be used for a year. Well, for me, overall, this filter is the best filter water that everyone should have. There are no leak like the tap filter had. Overall, it is highly recommended.

Strengths: Cleaner water / better designed over brita
Weaknesses: n/a
Summary: Heavy Brita user for few years - have to say PUR pleasantly surprised me with design and quality - taste of the water as well - but this part is subjective. Like the fact that the filter locks into the container, the only thing I don't like - is it takes longer to filtrate over Brita. Highly recommended!

Strengths: Excellent filtration
Weaknesses: Pricey. No more orange replacement indicator.
Summary: Comparing the specs for the PUR filter versus the Brita, it's apparent that the PURs do a better job. They are more expensive than the Britas, but I guess since they're more effective, they're worth it. (BTW, Amazon has the best prices on these). About a year ago, PUR redesigned this filter and did not incorporate the orange Replacement Indicator that the old one had. Basically, as water passed through the filter, it drove some kind of water-wheel type mechanism which moved an orange tab around a groove in the filter top. When it reached the end of the groove, it was time to replace the filter. It was *very* convenient and a very good indicator of how much water actually went through the filter. Now, all you get is a silly sticker that you stick on a calendar decal to tell you to replace the filter after 2 months. It doesn't matter if you fill the pitcher once a day or 10 times a day - it's the same 2 months. Dumb. I think (and it's only my guess) PUR did this for 2 reasons. First, they undoubtedly save a few cents in the filter manufacturing process. Secondly, I've noticed that their newer pitchers have an LCD on them that tells you when to replace the filter. Again, cheaper for PUR since they manufacture only one indicator for the pitcher instead of one on *every* filter. Of course, they haven't reduced their prices to reflect this economy but, hey, they're in business to make money. The result is that those of us with older pitchers now get less value for our money. It's still an excellent product and I will continue to use it, just not as excellent as before.

Strengths: value package
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I purchased the package of replace water filter for my PUR slim pitcher. It's my second purchase and all those replacement I used worked very well as the original one in a pitcher package. You may see water filtered out in the pitcher slowly for a large amount of water, otherwise the filters are perfect.
