Strengths: Runs on MS Windows Mobile 5, Full Keyboard, Download Tom-Tom/GPS On it!, Video Enabled, WiFi Antenna!
Weaknesses: Runs on MS Windows Mobile 5 (Freezes Up From Time to Time!)
Camera Quality is not so great
Battery Life - One Day Charge Only
Price (Even with 2 year contract extension!)
Summary: I've had this phone for over 2 months now, and am in general, quite impressed by what it has to offer.
I was originally in the market for a nice PDA phone to organize my life. This phone definately does the job! It has outlook integration, the ability to view PPT, Word and Excel documents, and a notes tab!
I'm definately impressed by the full QWERTY keyboard that pulls out form the left! Imagine, you thought you could text fast on a regular phone! This proves you wrong!
For anyone who is a belligerent texter or organized mess, this is a great phone for you!
Reading reviews from CNET and other sites do tell you similar stories of its problems though. They're not major, but keep in mind that this phone runs on Windows Mobile 5. This means like most Microsoft products, it may freeze from time to time!
Just restart the phone, you'll be fine! This is also its strength though, as the user interface is much like a computer, it has a touch screen, and does function fast!
The picture quality isn't so great though, but I assume you can't have it all!
Definately get a case for this phone, as I scratched mine on day 4! Apparently, Verizon makes the same model of phone, but rebadges it as something else. So if you have a friend with a similar phone, turn bluetooth on and share files and pix without a problem!
All in all, a great functional phone, a bit pricey, but well worth it if you stick with it for awhile!

Good phone, but too much for me
Strengths: Wifi, expandable memory w/MicroSD card
Weaknesses: Hard to see the screen on sunny days. A little thick. Battery-life could be better.
Summary: I have been using this phone for a week and I find it a little too much for me. I'm a female user of this phone and it's too bulky and I feel that it's more oriented towards the business (power) user. I had the Moto Q before and I liked the form factor on that phone a lot better.
I do like the built-in Wifi and keyboard. The scroll wheel is located on the left-side of the phone and I think it would be better if it were on the right like how it is on blackberries and on the Moto Q.
Overall, I would recommend this phone to someone who likes to surf the net, watch slingbox, needs to edit word/excel documents, listen to music and watch videos. The battery life could also be better, I needed to put it on the charger every night. The phone was good, but just too much for me.

Strengths: good connectivity
Weaknesses: big sixe
Summary: So I've had a Cingular 8525 for a month. Mostly, I love it. To be sure, the form factor is a bit chunky (but then again so is mine). The large screen makes browsing the web, reading and responding to email, and working with Word Mobile documents very easy. The slide out keyboard is easy to use and much more user-friendly than the tiny keys that were on my old Treo. The phone part is decent. No physical keys, but the display menu works reasonably well. (Not to be used while driving, however.) The unit linked easily to a bluetooth earpiece. Ditto a bluetooth keyboard.

Great phone if you need all the features
Strengths: wi-fi !, ms mobile applications (word, excel, powerpoint, Pocket Internet Explorer, downloadable apps
Weaknesses: Screen is horrible in direct sun-light, dialing contacts is not as easy
Summary: I wanted to keep this phone because of all the powerful tools and applications. I was able to watch tv and my tivo on it using my slingbox. However, I found it too thick and bulky. The screen was way too dark and unreadible in direct sunlight. Browsing the net on a pocket pc phone is not all that fun since most websites are not optimized for pocket pc or mobile phones.
I would recommend this phone only to power uses who need all the features.

Strengths: great all-in-one device, flash for camera
Weaknesses: thick, wifi a little weak
Summary: The at&t 8525 is a very convenient all-in-one device loaded with many features. I really like the slide out QWERTY keyboard. The camera is ok quality, autofocus would have made a big difference. The WM5 is a pretty good operating system but at&t will release a free WM6 upgrade for the phone soon, I'm looking forward to that. I do not like how thick the phone is. It is comfortable to hold and talk on, but forget about putting it in your jeans pocket. Overall I am very satisfied with the phone.

Strengths: Fast and responsive, nice screen with fully keypad. expandability. Other software available (gmap, gtalk) etc
Weaknesses: Weak Wifi signal, freezes occasionally
Summary: 2007-07-24 14:56:19 I have this cell phone for a bit over a month and i like the speed of this device, it is real fast and responsive. Great multimedia device. It also sports great screen and web applications like gmaps are great MS Windows Mobile 5 . I also am using it as a GPS device and good enough camera for casual pictures to capture moments in daily routine(office..;-)) for which you don't need a dedicated camera. Web browsing regular internet pages on this phone may be bit difficult, like i find on all mobile PDA devices. It easily connected using my home Wifi. Overall great all in once device except for the occasional freeze. MS Windows Mobile 6 is available for this device from HTC(make) but i have not yet tried it.

Summary: I have owned about 5 mobile phones as of now. I can solemnly swear this is the best phone i have ever owned.
The qwerty keyboard is spot on so is the display. It feels so comfortable in the hand. The internet speeds are really comparable to broadband speed.
Only negatives i can muster is its little bigger and little heavier
The call quality is very good, battery charge is about average

Strengths: Packs a lot of functionality into one device
Expandable
Easy to modify
Built tough
Long battery life
Weaknesses: A little bulky
Windows Mobile OS is buggy
Runs out of memory easily
Summary: 2007-10-14 19:00:13 Despite the weaknesses I mentioned, this has been a fantastic device. I've had mine for almost a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are a tinkerer, this is the phone for you. I was able to upgrade and modify the software easily. Also, it has so many features and all worked as advertised. I use the bluetooth features of my car with it for hands-free calling. It paired easily with all of my bluetooth devices. Wifi range is decent. The camera quality isn't too great in low light but outside, it works great. Another nice feature is the flash for the camera. I use it basically as a flashlight at night. Also, the built in speaker is of excellent quality. Great for listening to music while working.
