Strengths: Great Transmission Power. Simple and Intuitive Controls. Easy to read display. Built in Cord and Stereo Mini-plug.
Weaknesses: No On/Off switch.
Summary: The FM transmitter built into my Garmin GPS/XM Radio is too weak to use in the D.C. area. The static, signal fading were very frustrating, and it is easily overpowered by transmitters in other vehicles. I bought 3 FM transmitters to test. Reviews on all 3 praised their "power". The Kensington Universal FM Transmitter was the least expensive of the 3 and by far the best. In the 6 weeks I have had it, I have been extremely impressed with it. It does not get "stepped on" by other transmitters. It's easy to program presets and use. The sound quality is nearly as good as CDs. If you don't get crystal clear sound, try turning down the volume on the source device (mp3 player, XM radio, etc.) I like it so much I gave away the other two transmitters.
