Strengths: Rare combination of Ipod dock, memory card readers, and USB ports. Picture quality is great.
Weaknesses: You must give up larger size (i.e. 22") to get the extra gizmos mentioned.
Summary: Most computers have the USB ports and Memory card readers on the front panel, so these options may not be of great benefit. I still found them and the Ipod dock convenient to use. Picture quality is good as mentioned in other reviews. I did not try the HDMI input, but the regular XVGA is great for standard computing.

The design of the monitor is great. I believe Viewsonic is a better quality monitor than Acer, HP, etc, and this monitor lives up to that standard.

Some people complain about the speakers. They are fine for modest audio demands. Don't forget there is a subwoofer level control on the unit.

I would recommend this monitor if you plan to use the Ipod dock. Otherwise the 22" Viewsonice is just $30 extra.

Strengths: ipod dock with adapters for different ipod, USB card reader (support HCSD), fast response time
Weaknesses: Card reader difficult to access, lousy speakers, monitor hight cannot be adjusted, ipod video does not directly connect to the monitor
Summary: Regardless of the cool factor of having ipod dock on the monitor base, the monitor and ipod dock are two separate systems. Basically, the base of the monitor is an independent USB hub with the card reader and ipod dock. Your ipod will be charged through the USB power supply with the speaker connection which has nothing to do with the monitor. If you are buying the monitor for a truly integrated ipod LCD, you'll be disappointed.

On the other hand, this is a 5ms viewsonic monitor. The quality of the monitor is excellent. Having a card reader and a few extra USB ports is great. If you plan to connect the audio to external speakers and need just a place to charge your iPod, this is a great choice.
