Great price, mediocre TV, BAD Customer Service
Strengths: what you pay is what you get.... :-(
Weaknesses: Really bad customer service, do not return e-mails or phone calls. I think their e-mail support@astarelectronics.com gets directed to ther spam mailbox, because no one ever reads or responds from it.
Summary: Purchased 30 inch LCD from Sams Club back in May, great price, looked great for first 15 minutes of viewing, then suddenly it flashes and the picture turns to black and white. Great for Turner Classics movies, but not so great for other channels. Took until November, before Thanksgiving to get customer service to agree that the TV is bad and needs to be fixed. They did send UPS label to send TV back. Gladly I saved original box. Today is Dec 15th, 3 weeks after TV sent in, and I have repeatedly left messages on their support voicemail box this week. and no one has ever tried to call back with status of the repair. Hope they send the TV back soon, fixed. If not fixed, Sams Club will be giving me a refund, since they honor their refund policy before 1 year is up.
