Strengths: Beautiful DVI-D image. Amazing image-clarity and text-readability, for the price. Very stable base. My old Samsung 17" (4:3) was _much_ less stable, despite being 2/3 the size & weight.
Weaknesses: Adjustable height would be nice. Bulge in case for built-in speakers. Maybe they're good for business users, but I'd rather have the extra cost spent on improving performance...I'm greedy. ;-)
Summary: I've been looking for that 'perfect deal' on a 20"-23" widescreen LCD monitor, since Spring of this year.

Drove me nuts, running around to every store and playing with running samples from all the usual makers: Samsung, HP, Sony, etc. I even tried the elegant-looking (and brutally expensive) Apple Cinema displays. After checking the sale fliers for several months, I figured I'd be forced to buy on-line if I wanted the best combination of price & quality.

Last week, I lucked into this Viewsonic at (of all places!) Office Max. The price was an amazingly low $250, after $50 instant discount & $50 in-store coupon. Oddly, I couldn't find a single on-line review...seems to be a relatively new model. I think it replaces the VX2025wm, which is often priced *higher*. Maybe the 2035 has a lower wholesale cost?

Anyway, I figured it was worth a try given Office Max's 14-day return policy. Hooked it up and WOW, I was blown away! I won't claim its the best 20" WS monitor in the world, but I don't see how you could do better in the $250-$350 range...or maybe all the way up to $450-$500. I'm extremely pleased with the results in my system (AMD 64 X2 3800+, 1G RAM, NVIDIA 7900GT).

Strengths: More viewing space, crisp images, bright display, great price
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I needed a monitor that would show colors close to how they would be printed. This monitor has given me that color. My greens are greener and my blues are blue, not purple. This monitor is taking some getting used to because it's bigger than my old monitor and I'm having to adjust to the higher resolution, but I'm not complaining because it's amazing. This monitor was a great price and had a rebate. The colors are amazing. If you are into gaming, this monitor will fit your needs.

Strengths: PICTURE, PRICE, FINISH, WIDESCREEN, NO GHOSTING OR LAG
Weaknesses: Z E R O
Summary: This monitor is breathtaking, from the cosmetic finish to the sharp and bright display (WITH NO DEAD PIXELS!),same amount of pixels as the 22in. version so why even pay more for the same?

umm price was a little steep but a great value if you consider the quality of the build and superiority of the screen, so no. no weakneses

2 Star ReviewNot their best effort...
Strengths: Price, maybe.
Weaknesses: Power button is absolutely the worst design. If you never turn it on or off, not a problem. Otherwise, plan on it failing long before the monitor does.
Summary: Mine hasn't failed yet but it's getting flakier every time I press it. I've had it ~ 6 months and already it looks like it will fail long before the monitor does.

First of all, you need a very pointy finger to even depress it. It's getting deeper in it's little hole and harder to push.

I only use Viewsonic. Nothing but Viewsonic for the last ten years so I have nothing against them... Currently, I have a VX2000, VX2035wm, and a Q20WB on my desk at home, a VG500b on the counter, and a VG2030m at work.

Great product, great support. So, when (if) the button fails, Viewsonic is just over the hill from me.

I've only had to warranty one monitor with them (and we have ~30 at work), a 19" CRT and they fixed it no questions asked...

Strengths: Excellent color, bright display, text very readable at 1680 x 1050. Lots of screen for the money.
Weaknesses: speakers don't have much frequency range but do the job.
Summary: I am very pleased with this 20.1" wide screen monitor. The colors are rich, the response is fast and small text is easily readable even at full resolution. The base/stand is easy to adjust and quite solid. It comes with a Three-year limited warranty on LCD, parts and labor.
