Summary: Got a great deal on this TV the day after Thanksgiving from Office Depot and now I see why it was so CHEAP. From the very beginning even putting the set together I had problems. The first unit had was cracked when I removed it from the box as if a fork lift had run into it. Office Depot was nice enough to exchange it for me (even though we had to drive 1.5 hours to pick it up since they would not send it here). Then, after some difficulty putting the TV together and getting it working, I experienced the Slowest acting remote control I have ever seen. Haier sent me another remote, but it was NO Better. At first the picture was pretty good. But after about a month of owning this TV, the picture started acting up. The screen had a flashing light right in the middle of the picture. (Usually the light flashes right on a persons head on the screen) ALso, sometimes I can read some words in the back of the picture that aren't supposed to be there. I think that is called ghosting, but not for sure.......All I know is it IS NOT good! Ok, so then I figured it may be my problem.....I bought an HDMI cable to see if that would help. NOPE! I called the cable compnay to see if it was there problem, since a NEW TV should be working fine. NOPE! I called the Customer Sevice Department at Haier and they instructed me to turn off the TV, disconnect everything and then hook it back up.......NO HELP! So as of now I have been calling them for almost 2 months and keep getting told that I will hear from a TV repair man in 7-10 days. Well that didn't happen and then I was told that it would be 7-10 more days, then I was told that the computer system was down....got the same excuses the next several times I called (which has now been around 15 times). Have been told that my problem was being sent to corporate headquarters and they would take care of the problem. Still Nothing! Then the supervisor finally did call and say I would know something in 24 hours. Well, the 24 hours have come and gone and guess what, NOTHING! I am currently waiting for him to call me again. This Haier NO Customer Service department is NO BETTER than the TV I purchased. YOU SHOULD AVOID HAIER TV's unless you want major problems and horrible Customer Service..

Strengths: the tv looks fine when it works.
Weaknesses: Pray to God it never stops working correctly, you will be screwed.
Summary: I've been months without a TV after talking with Haier so many times... it's horrible.... It's almost unbelieveable how bad their lack of customer service is. I could write a book about my experience has been with their company, but the bottom line is; DO NOT DEAL WITH HAIER EVER! Trust me...

Strengths: Excellent Color! Has lotsof menu items to discover, such as changing the picture settings easily with the remote! Got if for $799 after rebates! Best deal ever!!
Weaknesses: Remote has to be pointed right at left bottom corner of TV. Picture defaults to Panoramic Setting every time the TV is turned on. Aggravating... Haier says it's not supposed to do that & will repair.
Summary: Got a great deal at Office Depot for $799 after rebates.

Once I set the picture up (the original settings were too green), it looked GREAT!

Others claim that it looks as nice as as other $2500 models and I agree.

Hooked up a Bose surround sounds system and it sounds awesome!!

Is very wide with the attached speakers and wouldn't fit in a lot of cabinets but with the speakers off, it's average size.

Strengths: PICTURE IS qUITE GOOD AND CAN BE ADJUSTED QUITE EASILY FOR ALL IMPUTS
Weaknesses: REMOTE IS A BIT SLOW
Summary: Bought this televison over a month ago and have been very pleasantly surprised.

Using over the air hdtv signals works quite well. Am able to receive all local hdtv channels with an indoor antennae. Picture adjustments seems to work quite well. The remote is a bit clunky at times but that is to be expected .

Weaknesses: Haier customer support
Summary: I bought this TV on November 24, 2006. It stopped working one month later (the TV will NOT turn off!). I contacted Haier on January 5, 2007. My TV is still not working nearly three months later. I am still waiting on Haier to send a part to the authorized service center. I have asked Haier to replace the TV. They said no. I told them that three months with a brand new broken TV was not acceptable. They said sorry. I highly recommend that you not purchase this TV. Haier's customer service is not acceptable.

Strengths: color clarity size of screen
Weaknesses: local channels not as clear
Summary: I have researched many models of plasma TV and almost bought a Panasonic for $2500. I'm glad I didn't. I have had this TV for over 2 weeks and am absolutely delighted with it. The color on the HD channels is fantastic. There are a few non-HD channels that are not as clear, but who cares! I would highly recommend this TV for anyone in the market.

Strengths: Incredible low price!...But
Weaknesses: Its color will begin eror after 1-2 yrs.
Summary: I bought a 42-inch TV from the Lotus superstore. It looks good at first. After using for 18 months, its color displayed signal on the screen begin eror. My TV shows wrong color, it showns white to yellow and black to blue with skaky pictures. I have a warranty sticker. It told that the TV have a special warranty 3 years and 4 years for picture tube, but its customer service deny theirs warranty and will service for 1 year warranty only.

Strengths: Great Picture, highly adjustable settings
Weaknesses: Slow turn-on, Slow acting remote, bulky side speakers
Summary: Overall, I really like this TV. I was very impressed with the picture right out of the box, and have made only some minor corrections. In my opinion it is comparable to or better than any other tv I've looked at. I bought it for $800 on black Friday after rebates. I didn't even connect the side speakers as they are bulky and I am using a home theater system.
