Strengths: Speed, screen size and width
Weaknesses: Keys aren't concave.
Summary: This MacBook replaces a three year old iBook. A noticeable difference as soon as it's turned on. Boots up very quickly, has a nice looking flat screen with added width, about the same weight but "feels" smaller.

I also like the fact that Apple continued with the white, sleek case. The down side, though, is almost insignificant. The surface of the keys are all flat, so it takes time adapting to the finger placement. Not sure why this change was made...

3 Star Reviewmacbook
Strengths: os X user interface
Weaknesses: os x operating system implementation
Summary: Since my old powerbook was due for upgrade and i have gotten used to os X I decided to go with the same platform again. Well, the intel hardware is certainly better, however I continue being disappointed by the same flaws I was in the past - bad parallelization and memory management.

Furthermore Apple ships these with only 512MB and slow harddrive which makes them quite sluggish when you open more than two applications. Of course one can configure the laptop to include more memory, but it is extramely overpriced - about 100% more than if doing the upgrade itself.

Overall I am satisfied with the laptop, but would prefer that apple improves on the operating system's performance, rather than just adding gimmicky features. Hopefully Leopard will run on this, however I'm bracing for continuing disappointment in its performance.
