Read More Description: The E100 dual 10-inch floorstanding loudspeaker, flagship of the Northridge E Series, delivers superb audio, whether used for critical listening in a stereo system, or when combined with a Northridge E center channel, bookshelf surrounds and a subwoofer to create a home theater system. E100 performs like a pro, with technology developed by JBL?s Professional division. Equipped with JBL's tried-and-true titanium-laminate tweeters and PolyPlas drivers, the speaker reproduces high notes with extreme clarity. The lows and mids, efficiently boosted by dual 10-inch woofers and assisted by the FreeFlow flared port, are loud and clear, without unwanted distortion or boominess. The Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguide ensures that every seat is the best in the house for sweet music and intelligible dialogue, or for just rocking out. Since the transducers were purpose-designed to work together harmoniously, JBL's simple Straight-Line Signal Path (SSP) crossover network divides the signal with minimal processing (and minimal opportunity to degrade the signal). Dual sets of sturdy gold-plated, 5-way binding posts enable bi-amping or bi-wiring. With the high, midrange and low frequencies isolated, the E100's four transducers can reproduce their frequency ranges more efficiently and with greater accuracy. The computer-designed, lock-mitred cabinet virtually eliminates distortion, and its slim European profile won?t overpower your room. Minimize |

Strengths: Great sounding; Look even better (cherry finish)!
Weaknesses: A little "bigger" than what one may want
Summary: Before you read on, you should note that I am not an audiophile, so my ears might not be as "sensitive" as others! ;-) I have had these for about a week now, and overall, I have been quite impressed. I upgraded from a set of RCA tower speakers that matched my TV & stereo stand (I know, not a good way to select speakers!), but there is a big difference. The movies I have watched have a more "fuller" sound, not to "tinny" as before. Also listened to a DVD of live concert (Peter Gabriel) in DTS, and was equally impressed.
The speakers look great! I love the Cherry color. My only knock is that they are so darn big!! I probably would have been okay w/ the smaller subwoofer on the E90's, which also make the speaker footprint smaller.
I was very impressed w/ the packing job that JBL (and seller BestPriceAudio, perhaps?) did in packing the speakers. They arrived very safe & sound, which was a concern of mine since these things are massive!

Strengths: Sound great for the price. Quality construction
Weaknesses: Size
Summary: I have had these speakers for about four months. Instead of getting a set of surround speakers I decided to go with individual speakers that would be good for more than movies. I am extremely happy with the setup. I went with all JBL speakers. Front are E100, center is EC35, subwoofer is E250P and rear are E50. All are Beech cabinets and look sharp. If you have the space, they sound great.

Strengths: Great highs & lows they perform flawlessly
Weaknesses: Weakness, whats that?!!!!!!!!
Summary: I have these as my two front towers, they replaced e60's, which are now my rears, & the e20's that were my rears, are now surrounds. Right away I could hear the power of the e100's just blowing out the sounds of jazz or the power of bombs dropping in the movie Pearl Harbour. These are by far the best speakers on the market for the price, sure you can buy more expensive speakers, but why???
