Strengths: No-Brainer Installation & Use! Sturdy, Functional and Attractive Design...
Weaknesses: Short Cable... But I am assuming that the Design-Engineers worked within technology-limits here, perhaps signal reliability would degrade excessively beyond the 36-inch point?
Summary: I have three Windows 2K/XP Desktops all with D-Link DWL-G520 NICs, hosted until today by a Belkin 802.11g Router. The Router and two of the Desktops are in my Home-Office (a converted Bedroom), with the REMAINING Desktop (used by my WIFE) across the house in our Den. This one had a chronically weak and frequently dropped signal. I ordered a D-Link DI-624 Router in hopes that with it the Desktops could all utilize D-Link's proprietary Turbo-Mode and my wife's Desktop would get a stable signal. This did not happen, but unexpectedly this D-Link Router came with two ANT24-0400 Antennas, and THESE have SAVED THE DAY! With one Antenna on the D-Link Router and the other on my wife's Desktop (hoisted up on her desk-surface) I now have a 108Mbps TX-Rate on ALL the PCs, and the wife's Desktop now has a signal varying from 3 to 4 Bars out of 5, which hasn't dropped so far... I am HIGHLY impressed, and I FIRMLY recommend this little device for any 802.11x LAN with pesky signal-strength or connectivity issues... just make sure you get one for the Router, and one EACH for the client stations that are misbehavin'!

DLink 4DBI OMNI-DIRECTIONAL INDOOR ANTENNA
Strengths: Flexibility of placement
Weaknesses: I haven't noticed any better reception
Summary: I bought the Antenna to use with my DI624 router. My router is located inside of a roll top desk. I attached the antenna to the router and placed the antenna on top of the desk hoping for better reception from the other side of the house. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I haven’t noticed any difference in range using this antenna. I will soon replace it with something more powerful.

Strengths: Very Easy to install my router didnt even require a restart
Read comments.
Weaknesses: Did not increase my signal by but could be the location in my house
Summary: Overall the antenna was a good purchase. It did not give any increase in signal strength. I did notice however my connection to the router as a lot quicker than before. (This was always a problem. The communication to the router was slow).
I have also noticed that I the strength is a lot more constant than before. I don't gain signal strength, but I don't loose any now either.

Strengths: Simple to install, compact size
Weaknesses: Mediocre signal increase
Summary: I've used this antenna for my Linksys Wireless G Router for a while already and it barely increased my signal distance to my notebook. The installation is easy and foolproof. It's also compact in design so you can place the antenna virtually anywhere.
Overall this unit doesn't quite get the nod over other signal boosters. It is kind of weak and maybe you need 2 of these to work properly but it might work out for some people under different circumstances.

Strengths: Improves speed of transfer, no lost connections, less expensive than some antennas, stable weighted base
Weaknesses: Short cable
Summary: I had a DI-624 router and DWL-G520 card and I was experiencing lost connections, low throughput and signal strength ranging from very low to good. The distance between points wasn't that far, but it was across a kitchen with appliances, etc. I also have a 2.4 Ghz phone that competes as well. I installed this antenna on the router and a 6db directional antenna on the computer. The signal now connects at good to very good and the transfer rate is much better and consistent. Just the antenna on the router did not help the signal significantly. The biggest improvement was from putting the 6db directional on the PC and getting the antenna away from the back of the computer and up where it could get a signal. The length of the cable is fairly short - just barely long enough to get it up on top of a desk if your PC is below. Overall I am very satisfied with the antenna and would recommend it to anyone looking for a boost in wireless performance. My advice is to put antenna's on both ends of the connection to improve it.

Strengths: Good for wireless cards in desktop PCs. Allows flexibility in antenna placement away from the PC case. Better signal reception.
Weaknesses: Cable too short.
Summary: I am using the D-Link DWL-G520 wireless 802.11g wireless PCI adapter for my desktop PC in my bedroom. The signal reception for my laptop in the same room is perfectly fine, but because the stock antenna of the DWL-G520 sticks out of the back of the PC case, and my computer is tucked beneath my desk, the positioning was horrible and I would get minimal signal strength and connectivity. The D-Link omni-directional indoor antenna allows me to place the antenna on top of my desk, and now reception is perfect.
To sum up, I did NOT get this antenna to increase range. I already had good signal strength in my bedroom but I needed better placement of the existing stub antenna for my desktop. This increased my "signal bars" from 1/5 to 4/5.
The only drawback is that the cable is relatively short. It is long enough to get the antenna on top of my desk, but not long enough to give me much choice where to place the antenna on my desk.

Strengths: Compatible with various models, Plug and Play, Location Adjustable.
Weaknesses: Little or no improvement from standard antenna.
Summary: This device is intended to provide improved reception for your wireless network. I found the device to easy to install, just disconnect the existing antenna from your base station and connect the replacement antenna. The device comes with 36" cable which allows adjustability of placement. In my particular case, this device did not improve my signal quality.

Strengths: Incredibly simple to install, no setup requirements, optional wall mount, RP-SMA or RP-TNC connector provided for support w/ other routers.
Weaknesses: No improvement in performance, extension is only 38” long.
Summary: 2004-10-10 21:47:33 Simple product to install and setup, but at the end of the day, it made no difference in my reception (none I could detect anyway). Part of the problem may be the cable, it’s way too short. I would preferred to have mounted the antenna at a high-point in my home office, but with such a short extension, this severely limits your options (higher is generally better). Just seems to me that D-Link undermined the usability and effectiveness of this product by skimping on cable length. I’m a big D-Link fan (I own the DI-624 router, DWL-G650 wireless PCI adapter, and DWL-G120 wireless USB adapter, all work great), but this product has proven essentially ineffective for its intended purpose (of course, YMMV).

Strengths: Small compact size
Includes connects for most standard pigtail plugs
D-Link is a quality company, workmanship is good.
Compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g networks
Weaknesses: Omni-directional -- so it must be located in the middle of your house
Signal increas is only 4 db
Summary: I bought this to use with the D-Link 624 wireless G router, it works well. The only drawback is the antenna is omnidirectional so it needs to be centrally located for it to give a good signal. The antenna is both compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g networks and it also includes all the connectors required to interact with almost every kind of router or access point out there.
