Strengths: 30W RMS per channel, awesome blue lighting, 6.5 volt preouts, loads mp3's faster than any other deck out there, clear sound, insane amount of tuning options, updateable backgrounds.
Weaknesses: The joystick is a little weird to get used to at first, display is on the right hand side away from the driver, lots of wires in the back to shove behind your deck, no aac support.
Summary: Wow! I'm ultra impressed, I won't be buying another cd deck till they come out with a cheaper DVD/mp3 deck. The 30 watts per channel insures you can still get lots of power out to your speakers without an amp, the sound coming out is incredibly clear, the subwoofer has lots of options for fine tuning, as well as tons of options for tuning the speakers. High pass filters, 16 band equalizer, the list goes on. The best though is that this deck will load up mp3's, skip through them, and fast forward through them faster than about 30 different decks that I tried out at circuit city and best buy. Only decks that came close in loading speed were all pioneers, so I suggest going with Pioneer if you listen to mp3's. Joystick is a little weird, but I can get used to it. I love that you can browse by directory. Bottom line, get this player! You won't be disappointed.

1 Star Reviewnot a good HU
Strengths: nice sound quality
Weaknesses: only one controller, display hard to see in daylight, doesn't play all mp3,
Summary: one main controller for everything sucks. To adjust audio you have to go through other stuff to find it and you don't have time while driving especially when you can't see the display. This is what makes me want to drive my car over this f...en radio, it doesn't play all mp3.

do not buy it or it will give you heart attack

Strengths: This deck outproforms any deck i have ever heard in a car to date.
Weaknesses: face plate sometimes won't open but has always reset it self in 12-24 hours kinda weird.
Summary: This deck in perfect if it wasn't for face plate. every feature in this deck in perfectly intergrated in to the sound heard from the speakers. when set right this deck will make stock un-blown interior speakers scream crystal clear highs with unrivaled pre-amp outputs of 6.5 crystal clear volts for loudest bass

1 Star ReviewDO NOT BUY
Strengths: Great look that leaves people with their mouths open
Weaknesses: Single dial for all control, remote control battery is to hard to find and costs about 25 dollars when able to find it. The screen burns out easily or leaves the clock burn into the screen after 12 hr
Summary: Do Not buy, not because of the product, product other then what I mentioned is great. Its the customer support when getting service, they interupt, they don't care that your calling in about a problem and won't let you explain the problem. Their only trained to say "Here is your local service center." Thats it. They will not even let you speak. They say they will call back but will not. The local service center they gave me MADE me buy them a power cord or take mine thats HARDWIRED into the car. All service centers when they attempt to fix your product if they are testing the subs they will never find the problem. Because they use home sterio speakers that are about 2 inches. PIONEER DOES NOT WARRANT ANY PRODUCT THEY SELL AT ALL, TVS SPEAKERS SUBS DOESN'T MATTER. DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY. The service center has been in the service 8 weeks and into service 5 times and still NOT FIXED. I've been to 3 different service centers still nothing. PIONEER DOES NOT PROMISE A FIX ONLY SERVICE. THEY DO NOT REPLACE.

3 Star ReviewiPod Integration?
Strengths: Excellent sound and lots of EQ/Filter tweeks to play with
Weaknesses: iPod song names do not display, Low Hum with iPod connection, Button combinations can get tricky while driving.
Summary: Overall I love my new set-up which consists of the Pioneer DEH-P8MP w/iPod adapter and a 60GB iPod photo. First thing I noticed when connecting my iPod was how quick it recognized the hardware, and in a flash it started to play a song. The other thing I noticed was although the Artist, Genere, Album and Playlist can be scrolled through, none of my track names would show up which I found really dissapointing, even when the deck demo shows that it does 'songname.mp3', but that might apply to whats recorded on CD since 'Song' is not listed as a means of navigational scrolling for the iPod. I also have noticed that I'm not able to scrub though songs (fast-fwd while playing) on some CD's or all MP3's.

On the deck side, a EQ/Filter save function would be nice for having to switch from Rock to Hip-Hop, Electronic or whatever. The button combos and looking at screen while driving can be pretty dangerous.

Nice deck but needs better integration with iPod, which was the main reason I bought the whole system.
